Rodwell has all the attributes and with Arteta out he's probably the closest thing we have to him. I'd like to see him starting from now on, he won't always be brilliant but he'll still have his good days like he did against Wigan and Sigma.
He needs to add aggression to his game and work on his positioning, once he does that we'll have a similar player to Wilson Palacios on our hands. Maybe even better with his height and frame.

I've been saying it for a while now so he doesn't really disappoint me anymore. I just accept him for what he is, a decent player who could easily be improved upon.
You've always had big hopes for him and he's obviously not impressing you or turning him into the player you thought he'd be, there's nothing wrong with that. I can see why he's disappointing you.
He's not [Poor language removed], he's just not brilliant either and doesn't have the tools needed to be a brilliant player. Keeping possession and making a simple pass is the basics really, Phil Neville can do that.
He is happy here, don't be deceived by his attitude. He's a laid back player, we have quite a few of them at the club. Saha, Yakubu, Fellaini and Yobo all spring to mind. I don't have a problem with that.
He just doesn't have the tools, he's a poor athlete and to be honest he's not a great footballer either. He doesn't even attack the ball well enough to be dominant in the air.
Cahill and Saha are superior headers of the ball.
His country don't even use him as a centre mid, speaks for itself really.
Hopefully he gets a break from first team football now, Jack Rodwell is already a better player as is Phil Neville. He's probably better coming from the bench in my opinion, Fellaini and Jo changed the game when they came on.
