Fellaini is an awful centre mid, yes. In terms of aerial ability and positioning he's similar to Tim, in terms of attributes there not all that similar to be honest.

Manny obviously impressed Valencia, he had a great first spell with us and was excellent for Benfica the season before - in both the Portuguese League and the Champions League. Benfica got the semi's and Manny put in some top class performace against TOP opposition.
In his second spell he simply didn't play well enough. He wasn't fit, he was off the pace and obviously lacking confidence (according to Moyes). And Moyes doesn't get everything right, he actually got it wrong. We signed a 15 million donkey with half the ability Manny has. A player who we had to accomadate upfront for most of the season and will do this season if pre-season is anything to go by.
I'm not doubting Moutinho's a good player, he is but I don't think he's anywhere near as special as you make out. Nothing like it and I know alot of Portuguese football fans would agree with me.

So what does he really have over him bar workrate? It’s clear he isn’t physically the better player and I’ve seen no evidence to suggest he’s a better footballer. He’s a good footballer, on players like Fernandes and Arteta’s level but no like a Zidane, a Kaka or even a Ronaldo.
All it comes down to is experience, injuries and stability. Once Manuel gets that he’ll develop into a fine footballer. And Moutinho is not, by any means, superior or different class.
Why didn't anyone come in for him, instead of us, If he's really that good? I don't see anyone sniffing around him at the moment, just the odd bullshit speculation.
Tackles alot better. Alright mate, in the Portuguese league yes, he's a dominant force. In a different League he's be like Pienaar, tenacious and he'll get stuck in but certainly not a 'good tackler'. But then, neither is Manuel Fernandes.
Works harder is the only thing I'll give you. Strength, pace and all round athleticism Manuel is superior. That's clear to see, Manny's upper body strength is very clear in those short clips of him. His strength and ability to shield the ball is fantastic.
In terms of ability they are both very talented, fact of the matter is you won't find many superior footballers to Fernandes. His technical ability and passing range is very high. I’d love you to find me any evidence of Moutinho doing the sort of things Fernandes does with the ball, I bet you can’t.
Fernandes has moved around for the majority of his career, he's never had a chance to settle down and gain some stability. Just like Arteta did early in his career, a big reason why Arteta missed out on caps when Spain where average. That and the fact that Manuel has had quite a few injury and fitness problems.
Moutinho is completely unproven, atleast Manny had the balls to come and rough it with the big boys at an early age. Moutinho sat in the comfort zone and bossed games against average players for one of the best teams in his league.
Manny is a fantastic talent, I'd love to know what Moutinho has to his game that makes him so much better and in a 'different class'. Manny has everything, a potential all rounder. Maturity, playing week in week out and experience will only help that potential bud.
