Match Thread Everton v Norwich City - Preview, Match Report and MotM Poll

We miss Buendia but we had to sell to have enough money to plug the gaps in the squad. We haven't replaced him directly but added Rashica and Tzolis, who are sort of similar. I haven't been at a Norwich City match since February 2020, before Dowell joined, so can't really assess him. He looks...

Match Thread Everton v Norwich City - Preview, Match Report and MotM Poll

If we have a danger man against you it is probably Christos Tzolis, a Greek winger. I haven't seen us play this season but I suspect we aren't quite as bad as we appear. We had a covid-ravaged pre-season and Farke is trying to bed in nine new players, some of whom need to get up to speed with...

    Next Everton manager...WRONG answers only

    Daniel Farke...

    Transfer Rumour Maximillian James Aarons

Hold on, Omobamidele has played about thirty seconds for us! We would like to have him for a bit longer. I am no judge even if he'd played much more. But he seems to have a very good temperament. Pre-covid, I would have thought perhaps £35m-40m for Aarons, but the assumption is prices will be...

    Transfer Rumour Maximillian James Aarons

Aarons' pace is one attribute that makes him a good defender, at least in the Championship. It is hard to separate that out in an assessment. But I don't remember ever seeing him really taken to the cleaners by an opposition winger. The kinds of quick twists and turns he uses in attack to...

    Transfer Rumour Maximillian James Aarons

I wouldn't read too much into Delia's comment. She is just being honest and stating the eventual obvious. We have three valuable commodities in Aarons, Buendia and Cantwell, but the feeling at the club supposedly is that Aarons is the likeliest to leave. He is a very decent defender on the...

    Transfer Rumour Maximillian James Aarons

Like all coaches Farke has his weak points, but they are outweighed by the virtues. And he decided Godfrey should switch from being a defensive midfielder to centre-back...

    Transfer Rumour Maximillian James Aarons

They may be friends but I think players make very cold-blooded decisions about which club to move to, and my suspicion still is that Aarons will go abroad. Afraid I haven't lived in Norfolk for 50 years so not the best to give advice on property. I think there are some flats by the river right...

    Transfer Rumour Maximillian James Aarons

Lewis is probably on the cusp of being good enough for the Premier League, but the other three make it, as does KruL, and perhaps Pukki.. He scored a goal every other game until he got injured. But as for thinking the whole team from last season are good enough, I suspect most Norwich City fans...

    We really don't.

    2020/21 Ben Godfrey

He is a very attacking full-back. Possibly the reason why he doesn't get credited with many assists is that we tend to (over-???) play in front of goal, so although he may be a key part of the build-up to the goal in opening up the defence he doesn't play the final pass for the assist.

    2020/21 Ben Godfrey

Aarons will make the grade, but I suspect he will go abroad.

    2020/21 Ben Godfrey

Last time I was here it was to say what a shame it was the Ken Loach drama-documentary on the Golden Vision wasn't available on DVD! I have seen one or two comments (and not just here) on the oddity of Godfrey and also Aarons being so highly rated when we had a dreadful defence last season. To...

Qualities the next Everton manager needs to possess

I hesitate to make a suggestion, but would it make sense to go down the road of a director of football (a proper one, as opposed to the pretend variety some clubs have) and a head coach? I don't know nearly enough about how things have gone but on the face of it your last three managers...

    ALEX YOUNG RIP

I never had any allegiance to Everton, but he was the vision of how football ought to be played. RIP.
