6 + 2 Point Deductions

It is not a GAAP figure so the PL don’t need to follow GAAP.

The expense wasn’t allowed last year, what has changed?
I understand what you’re saying mate…
The PL don’t have to adhere to the accounting statements.
Whereas IFRS allow for certain expenses to be capitalised based on their nature, the PL don’t have to follow that and can treat all expenses as an income statement expense for the purpose of their calculation.
But then that means that they’re picking and choosing which numbers to use from the audited financial statements to suit their agenda.
And if they’re asking for audited financial statements, then surely we can raise an argument that they must use the audited AFS’s numbers, otherwise what’s the point of submitting them?

How on earth can cooperation reduce a sanction by 2 points in one case, but then accepted mitigation re usm AND early plea reduce a sanction by 1 point in another?

How on earth can accepting double jeopardy for 2/3 of the period reduce the penalty by only 2/5?

If they apply consistent approach it should be 3 points credit for double jeopardy, 2 for cooperation and at least 1 for mitigation. They actually are then in credit territory and we should have been given a point! It feels like they daren't mitigate down to zero as they have this line of there must be a sporting penalty.

Surely it's time for court, this approach across 4 ICs is completely against any concept of justice.

The premier league wanted to deduct us 5 points, probably the most corrupt league in the world.
If that is to be believed and that they wanted 12 for the previous one, all told the PL have wanted 17 points deducted... for 2 breaches that amount to less than 40 million.... it's 100% witch hunt territory the scab 6 threatened to destroy the entire pl brand and got a telling off... Masters really comes across as a slimy cretin who's ego has outgrown it's host.

….lets not forget, some months ago the Parliamentary Select Committee asked Masters for the minutes of the PL Board Meeting where Everton’s points deduction was discussed. A few weeks later the Select Committee chair received a letter from PL saying ‘we are a private company and not required to provide you with the minutes of Board meetings’

Clearly something to hide, those minutes could be dynamite if they haven’t already been shredded or doctored.

(By the way, it’s great to see you back, Dave.)
Thanks Eggs.

Yeah, there's no way this lot aren't going after Everton. Masters is a second rate Sheepshanks...yes, that bad.

The mess continues but to be honest, 2 points is better than I was expecting. Fair play for the club to be appealing but does anyone know what they are hoping the outcome will be (fine, 1 point deduction, suspended points deduction, etc)?.

Probably just to make the point of how farcical it is that somebody's relegation could be decided after the last ball is kicked.

But because of that, I don't think any independent commission would have the minerals to give us, say, two points back when we've been relegated by one point the week before.

Equally, though, the PL won't love that the possibility that they might is discussed every day until we're safe.

They restated the '22 accounts to bring them in line with the accounting policies of the '23 accounts.
So one auditor would not capitalize, and one would? What changed?

If the bank amended the docs to allow this money for the building, that’s all we need. What an auditor thinks is irrelevant
