Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Do people really want a young striker from Brighton on loan? I would be interested in a permanent deal but a loan for a player who can't get in a mid table team and then sending him back in the summer?
That would be a huge waste of time and embarrassing, we have to stop with the stop gap squad fillers, get players better than what we have and that have a future at the club.
Tend to agree. Im not sure about this because his recent injury. Feels like Brighton is just trying to use us..not sure how but thats the gut feeling I get.

Maybe a quick fix till the season ends I would go down any route at the moment
Just to be in prem next season then start new era in our new stadium

….seems clear to me, Moyes didn’t want the players we were targetting. He’s taken a couple of games and a few weeks training to determine transfer requirements. The recruiting team will be looking at names that fit his acceptance criteria, be it injury records, physicality (speed), quality in possession etc.

I expect there’s plenty of enquiries being made but we’ve started afresh with Moyes now running the show.

Stop with the logic.

Despite some of my casual comments I suspect you're right and in defence of the club before his arrival it’s hard to recruit when you’ve no idea if the manager is staying , who the new manager will want and potter /moyes for example are going to want very different players.

As much as I want new blood in but we have short memories of Fat Sam bringing in Tosun and Walcott or Fat Rafael blowing millions on Mykolenko and Patterson.

January is a poor market to get the right player through the door. Most decent players are involved in first team football so a big fee over their valuation required and big wages to move to a Relegation Battle.

You also have players going out of contract who will sit until the summer so not going to move for less wages.

So looking to lower leagues and players with 18 months left are perfect for us
