Live Music Thread

I shook a bad garage punk habit by moving to the suburbs a while back so I don't see a lot of shows these days. My last show was either the Angel Martins at Somerville Porchfest or a makeshift teenage jazz trio (trombone, keys, drums!) playing on the town common during the farmer's market. Both shows were underappreciated and totally ace.

I am off to see Paul Heaton on Friday night in Belfast, wouldn’t be my first choice but my wife and my sister want to go and need a driver. Balance has been redressed as Mrs C and myself have tickets to see Counting Crows playing in Dublin in October.
Counting Crows were one of the worst bands I've ever seen live, hopefully it's better for you

I am a massive fan of Counting Crows but, like yourself, the worst gig I was ever at was a few years ago when they done a European tour but only playing in venues of less than 3,000. They played in the Ulster Hall in Belfast, I thought it would be great to see them in such a small venue but every person there knew all the words to all the songs, it was like a massive karaoke party. Adam Duritz done his best to get them to stop but they didn’t. Hopefully in Dublin it will be better. We are staying in a hotel very close to the venue so we will have dinner and a few drinks on our walk to the show. We will ensure we enjoy.

Was at this too. Enjoyed every second of it. Such a clever lyricist.

Went to see Kim Deal in Seattle last week, excellent show! Just got tickets for English Teacher in the same city (September).
