Live Music Thread

Booked to see Sam Fender at the AFAS live venue next door to the Amsterdam Arena, has anyone been to a gig here? Its only 6000 capacity so should be decent. We were going to go and see him at St James Park but the thought of 50,000 geordie neaderthals put us off.

Watched a Black Debbath 25th anniversary show tonight. So good. Obviously it's funnier if you understand the language, but still a nice band which isn't at all inspired by four Brummie lads.

The song in the video was the first one they ever made. Tonight they played it at like half-speed, which was so heavy I almost broke my back

Got Lana Del Rey tickets for Wembley. I don't mind her but my gf is obsessed with her, probably her favourite artist so couldn't really say no. Notttt cheap

Especially after just seeing Charli xcx in London for £40. Tinashe in Feb for £30 too. I might have given up seeing bands although I'll be going got My Bloody Valentine tix if they announce some UK dates

Charli xcx for £40 is insane value.

She came out of Scotland….

Although I absolutely love garbage I’d be surprised if it’s a bad show…
Bloody hell mate I must have made that post 6 months ago

Yeah the band were all American but I couldn't even tell you any of their names or recognise them if I met them in the street. Shirley is unashamedly Scottish. And the Scots normally support their own with fervour. I was just surprised.

100% I was bored reading through stuff, I am very into anything music… so forgive me, I was just interested

Tho butch vig may be known as a noted producer… particularly of the nevermind variety…

A long shot maybe, but hopefully with a better chance of reaching the target than J. Harrison.

Do any of you know of a way to get hands on 3 tickets for Coldplay in London? Date not important. Without having to pay the crazy amounts on Stubhub, Viagogo etc?

I did a gig NYE, it's a largely visual show as I'm essentially a solo artist but I have screens, projections and a crazy outfit, helps me stand out.

One guy walked right to the front.... he's blind, my whole set was largely redundant for him

Went to a local gig/fundraiser this weekend honoring a friend and local musician who died of pancreatic cancer (50) and it was really nice. Not saying it was anywhere near the level of best show I've ever seen, but around 30 musicians who knew him played together songs they've performed with him or songs he really enjoyed and it was a special time to sit and listen to some music.

Here he is playing with Daniel Lanois, who I'm not familiar with but is apparently somewhat famous*. I am familiar with the Blades (at least Brian is playing drums here but maybe that's Brady as well). My friend also toured for a while with some guy named Dave Matthews. But mainly he liked to play local gigs with his friends. (And he was really good at playing the bass).

*apparently he produced multiple albums by U2, Dylan, and Peter Gabriel among many others. He also writes and performs music on occasion.

collaborated with Brian Eno to create the ambient genre and produce several albums for U2, including The Joshua Tree (1987) and Achtung Baby (1991). Three albums produced or co-produced by Lanois have won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

I reckon there's some famous names in his phone.
