You could argue we are going to need anything from 6 to 12 players based on contracts expiring and anyone we try to keep on.

You're right - that level of recruitment would be borderline impossible to do I would guess even if we have more to spend than we thought, so you'd have to imagine that there will be a few we try to retain for another year (sub keepers and Gana Gueye being your most obvious candidates) and use of the loan and free agent market would be required alongside whatever we spend.

We got 7 last summer with no money, up to 10 shouldn’t be to difficult, I suppose it will depend if Moyes is still dithering davie

AFAIK, he's defensive work rate leaves a lot to be desired. If this is true, I have some doubts if Moyes is interested. He wants his wingers to track back.

……I find posts like this a bit odd, ever since Giggs/Beckham wide players are expected to work the length of the pitch. It’s not a Moyes (or Dyche) thing, watch how hard Man City players work to get the ball back when possession is lost.

Football is about what the team does with and without possession and working hard for the cause is expected these days.

……I find posts like this a bit odd, ever since Giggs/Beckham wide players are expected to work the length of the pitch. It’s not a Moyes (or Dyche) thing, watch how hard Man City players work to get the ball back when possession is lost.

Football is about what the team does with and without possession and working hard for the cause is expected these days.

It was not my opinion, but something I have gleaned from others. There are still forwards who do not contribute much defensively and they fit into some systems. Cherki is very talented so I could imagine some coaches giving him more leeway.

I haven't watched more than clips of him so I can't really give my opinion on whether he works hard or not. He seems very skillful but not a rocket, more in the Tom Fellows category of pace. In other words slow if we believe some here. But considering purely skill and vision he seems a very exciting player. Of course clips only tell you so much. Player might give the ball away cheapy five times and then give a great pass, and you only see the last one in those clips.

I didn't say that. But they are definitely in the top echelons of demanding that, Dyche in particular. Because, you know, there are different coaches. Bielsa is notorious in demanding high work rate but not every coach is like him. And some managers believe more in structure while others give players more freedom.

The more successful Coach's demand their players work like Trojans, herr Klopp, Guardiola a couple of examples.

You can see it in Ashley Young earlier in the season and when he comes on, he gives nothing up and he fights for every margin. Every player in PL is supremely talented, but maintaining standards and work ethic can set you apart. You can see why Young has had the career and longevity he has had.

With us having 3 good CB's (Tarky, Branthwaite and O'Brien) I cant see us spending big on one unless we sell one of those 3. I would have thought our 4th choice would be a very young player or a very old one, with Keane leaving, but you never know.

Ya I'd imagine if the club brings in another CB it will be a free, an up and coming player or if Mykolenko is kept and a new lb is brought in they might see Mykolenko as a 4th choice CB to fill in if needed
