Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I'm fully expecting TFG to get our finances in order and go splash some serious money in the next few years. Even this summer we will spend big, but there's so much to do. This isn't the year to try and sign our Isak.

If there's a lesson to be taken from the Moshiri era it's that patience is key.
with you here mate. we will have a decent window like we haven’t had for a while

spend but wisely

Newcastle were bottom of the league when the Saudi's took over. Guimares cost the same as Onana.

Brighton regularily competing for europe is fine. Just like southampton used too, until they ran out of players to replace the sales.

Villa & Newcastle have eclipsed anything Brighton will do under that model
When Newcastle signed Guimaraes they didn't have half their squad leaving for free and needing to be replaced.

That first summer under Saudi ownership they signed 5 players including Guimaraes for 100m total. The next summer they sign another 5 players for 150m total. The next summer 4 players for 120m total. Do you think the PL will allow us to spend like that? Even if they did would we not have to spread that money out across twice the number of signings just to have a full squad for next season?

There is a chance we spend 30-40 million on one player this summer but imo its not likely, barring tfg pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

could be looking spend that on a winger tbh 20+ then maybe a striker. Is going to be different transfers in, still feel is quality in the free agent market for us take advantage

50/ 120 on all our players

This is also the paradigm where I felt the potential to tie down say a DCL may re emerge. He has virtually zero amortisation cost, and reasonably low wages and you do need a bit of a squad.

It's sort of why I can see us looking at Noorgaard.

It's funny, as footballers don't go dead at 30. There's generally a decline, but that can be sharper or slower for certain players.

Imagine we got Ashley Young at 30, he’d be on for his testimonial this year.

Think Norgaard has just re-signed for Brentford

Right wing and full backs ate the key positions for me. Yes we need a forward too but we need someone with pace and can weigh in with goals from the right as we aren't getting a prolific forward unless we unearth one.
