2024/25 David Moyes

He’s saved us from relegation

Invigorated a jaded fanbase and a poor squad

Given us hope again

Long term yes we should look for an emerging manager, but for now he’s doing a brilliant job and I’m excited to see what he can do with some backing and with the positive fresh start of the new stadium

Subs and doucoure usage was frustrating, but we were in that game and we could be talking about our first win their in a proper match since 1999 had Beto took that chance

All will be good. I reckon by the time he leaves in 2027 we’ll be in Europe for the new boss

You know what you get when you sign up Moyes: safety and a bit more than that but way too deferential when playing so called big clubs.

It's like howling at the moon to expect any different from him just because he's been and managed a few more clubs since he was last here. It's in his DNA.

I'd break the bank to get Iraola here before Levy snatches him up.
The tactics and set up were spot on last night mate,But for Beto fluffing his lines I personally believe we'd have at least taken a point.

Bear in mind here it's taken an offside goal for the champions elect to beat us over 2 games.

Mate the club has been on unsteady ground for long, jumping straight onto another manager, with a different philosophy will set us back again, especially with the potential high turnover of players on the horizon.

I agree with you when describing Moyes as "safety and a bit more" but I think for this moment in time thats essentially want the club needs.

But would we be closer to 19th than 14th like we were under Dyche?
Possibly. I've said many times it's often a tight league and a few good or bad results can have a big impact on where you end up - if you're the 15th best team in the league then you don't need to be underperforming by much to find yourself in relegation trouble, just like if you're the 10th best you only need a few things to go your way to find yourself in Europe. None of that changes the fact that David Moyes is a better manager than Sean Dyche, or that sacking Dyche was the right decision.

Ilm easy if he stays...Ilm easy if he goes.

That's about it for me.

He holds no fascination for me anymore. We had 11 years worth of touching our forelocks to the elite clubs when they were always there to be smashed on a lot of occasions. He did that again last night.

That Liverpool team is at best 'good'...and only for certain times this season.

We should have smashed them off the park last night. I accept we had players out, but they were still unsure of themselves and there for a team in good form like us to take something out of that game.

It’s not very tight at the bottom though is it. The last manager had us 1 point off 19th which is quite clearly not our level.

No it isn't, and I was quite clear about that both in the post you responded to and going back to when he was here. We were underperforming under Dyche, just not by anywhere near as much as some people continually tried to make out. We had a new manager bounce and it was great, but we've gone back to the sort of level we've been at for much of the past 3 or 4 years now. It was always likely to happen, because it reflects the level of quality we have in the squad.

It's not though. He can go anytime he wants and chooses not to. What sort of attitude is that?
The attitude that the current season is more important than where we will play next season.

You may well feel insulted. I sincerely doubt the rest of the fans who haven't been yet feel insulted like you suggest. It's just such a weird thing to get upset about, and even weirder that you think you speak for everyone else too.

Why do you even care!!

Honestly man. Just go for a walk. Put your phone and laptop away, and try and enjoy life!!
