How stupid are Manu?

Pretty sure Falcaos 300k a week and Di Marias prolly abar 200k wages will take a chunk of that turnover.

Would imagine the wage bill is well over 250m currently, take out the loan payments and they are left with around 120m, take away the CL revenue, the loss of sponsorship and I fully expect a firesale next summer.

I can also see United probably getting relagated this season.
Huge gambit there.

Profit down 84% also.

This. Quite bad that revenue increased £70m and profits decreased £122m year over year. And Woodward expects a profit near £90m this year, apparently ignoring the massive outlay in the transfer market.

Forgot this part as well:

Manchester United said its 2013 net income benefitted from a tax credit of £155.2m, which it received from "US deferred tax assets".

Had it not received that tax credit, the club would have made a loss of £8.8m in 2013.

Something is wrong here when your profit climbs £31m from (£8.8m) to to £23.8m because of £155m in benefits from US tax law. There's nothing wrong with US tax law, per se; the problem is with the underlying asset.

does this answer the question?

If you believe the press then United could be paying Falcao anything from £190,000/wk to £346,000/wk.

Falcao isn't on £346,000 per week. It was confirmed on MUTV that he's earning £200,000 per week which is a pee in the ocean when you consider Fat Waz is on a £1 million quid and free pizza a-day.

I don't get why the modern day supporter is so obsessed with transfer fees and what players earn though - I couldn't care less, as long as my club is investing it's supporters expensive ticket money on players.

So says a lad who is glued to MUTV to find out what a player is paid.lol

Well yeah because your club has more money than god.

But isn't that largely because your club has enough money that it doesn't really matter if they mess up a few transfers or sign players on higher wages than they warrant.

Assuming Fellaini gets sold in the next twelve months at a big loss to compensate another club taking on his large salary, you will be able to shrug, moan a bit and move on. For most other clubs such a bad investment would have far greater ramifications.

Man United are actually the first club to pay players wages.

Others clubs haven't had their wages scrutinised as much as United have this summer.
