The Four Months Though Lads - Worse than Mike Walker

This is a completely unwarranted and unfair comparison... For starters Dyche doesn't have a son that is trying to drag down Tottenham from the inside. :hayee:

Two things come to mind about this arena, how did it cost 365 million to build and why haven't co-op pulled out of the naming rights and sued the owners for dragging their name into the mud?

It says in the article (& others) that they didn't have to repay the loans until 2022. They refinanced the lot in 2019.

They only got that rate after it was built. I guess the bridging loans must have been more hence why they refinanced ahead of time. Whilst a stadium is being built anything might happen that could delay or cause the project to breakdown, banks don't like that sort of thing so they don't want to...

Spurs restructured after moving in, beforehand they had short term loans to complete the build. They would have been screwed over in terms of interest repayments if the timing was similar to ours...

At this point do you think his inside man is deliberately trying to feed him the wrong information to see just what the esk will write?

Correct for most, even the biggest ones in the world are only just a bit more being 9 odd metres which was less than the draught of the Titanic (despite being 5 times the size). The beam of these ships are so wide they don't sit as deep.

I am kind of guessing tbh but if you look sea level which all of those figures are measured from is set to 2/5 (slightly less) from the bottom. So the dock is probably 10m to the brim, perhaps 7m given the water line on that diagram. I call that we are both right! (you more so...)

Yeah the concourse would have to be extended as part of that process anyhow. I would say the roof wouldn't be the biggest deal in the world as it's fairly modular in design. Like the Principality Stadium can't justify filling in the 'gap', i don't think we will ever, as the cost to do so...

Yeah I did have that same thought not that long ago. Mind you it's still 10-11m deep!

Think that is more the lower tiers. The South upper concourse perhaps? But if you compare the two below, we would just be making the North Upper go as high as the South. It would be a lot more cramped in that North concourse with that increased capacity.

As someone else has said the pandemic put up wages and material costs of our very large infrastructure project. No one else was in that situation. Our profligacy with wages is another added problem, but without the other factors we would have still been ok. If you say the stadium is £750...

It was not just one factor that caught us, it was the pandemic that put up the prices in the first place, the war which took away not only the naming rights but the extra funding that was keeping us on a level keel. Then Liz Truss' economic masterplan that shoved the base rate skywards. Any...

We have three very saleable assets that could be sold off in 6 weeks time. In less than that our wage bill shrinks by nearly half. Seeing they would be sold off automatically for less money if we did go into administration I would imagine it would be worth a crack doing that ourselves first...

Erm...neither? I think we would wait to see if we despatch Luton first before making that kind of decision. This might just be a ploy so fans don't kick off when we sell Branthwaite just after the season ends.
