If, for example, we needed 70m to stave off administration, and we're only offered 50m does it really makes sense to sell for 50m? We're doomed either way. Might as well hard bargain for 70m.
Whatever the outcome, it doesn't look great for us.
I certainly wouldn't bet against it. We're haemorrhaging money at an alarming rate and there doesn't appear to be any signs of that changing any time soon.
A few people have mentioned in other threads how much money we'll save next season by releasing Dele and Gomes. We've just borrowed more than that to keep the lights on.

As an agent you get him to sign the deal, take the signing on fee, and ensure there is an escape clause for a minimal fee in the event we go down. Worst case scenario is another signing on fee after a cheap transfer.
I don't disagree that he may be sold. I totally disagree that it will be to us as a) we can't be spending the rumoured amounts on a single player and b) he'll move to a bigger club than us.
