    Everton, Southampton and Morecambe....

I can easily narrow it down to 2. Morecambe drew yesterday.

If Moshiri’s asking price was anywhere near reasonable, based on new stadium value + current assets - debt and recognition of continuing 777 (and any other unknown) risks, we would have a new owner by now.

    2024/25 Michael Keane

C’mon, we didn’t lose because of Keane. He is a symbol of what we have become. I could probably post this in the Dyche thread. We have crap players, a manager none of us would choose and a transfer window that makes Ipswich look like Barcelona, compared to us. It’s our owner and his mate Bill...

    2024/25 Beto

Beto is not and never will be, a successful Prem League striker. No amount of “giving him time” will change that. Whoever bought him, no matter how good the financial deal, should ever buy another player. Give him time this season and he may eventually, just about get the hang of the offside law.

Who's your money on in the takeover 'battle'?

After which, he’ll go ffs. Mr Moshiri, with all due respect, you are having a ‘kin giraffe.

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

True enough, but their credit card wasn’t maxed out, debit card swallowed by the cash machine two seasons ago and Paypal pay in 3 facility withdrawn, when the office milk bill didn’t get paid. Only Doug and Dinsdale Piranha willing to lend money, at extortionate rates, to keep the club (barely)...

Legia Warsaw fans overcome their away ban by sharing a caravan next to the ground for tonight’s game v Caernarfon.

Coventry City v Everton, Tues 30th July, 7.45pm

Who's idea was it to play prime Man City in a pre-season friendly anyway ? The 2 nutmegs for their 3rd? goal, superb. Holgate certainly put himself in the shop window tonight, hope Morecambe or Arbroath were watching.

What are you currently listening to?

Just on the way home from the Springsteen gig at Wembley. For a 74 year old, an amazing performance. The sound was brilliant and orchestration superb, but for me he’s entering the Rod Stewart, get the crowd singing, karaoke phase.

    The Oldies Thread

On the train home from the Springsteen gig at Wembley. Aching feet and knackered from standing and arm waving for over 3 hours. He’s 74 and was amazing. He’s also played at Wembley more times than we have this century, as my cockernee mates loved telling me throughout the day.

    Non League Football

I believe the away leg in Warsaw has to be played behind closed doors, following Legia’s fans displaying a giant banner having an offensive message aimed at UEFA. (This was following imposition of the ban mentioned below) Legia’s fans are separately banned from away travel for 5 European games...

    New Everton Stadium

Given our perilous financial position, I don’t think we were in a position not to do it. I would be amazed if there haven’t been design changes or compromises adopted, to cut costs and protect the available budget. Cost overruns due to design clashes, changes and discovery often happen on...

    New Everton Stadium

I’d be amazed if cost control / value engineering downgrades from the ideal hasn’t played a part in later design aspects, since our financial woes hit. It may be that the internal finishes are more likely to be affected, assuming that they can be upgraded later, when the financial position...

    Vinyl

To be fair, in my experience, if it’s a really common record with loads of UK copies for sale, Discogs is generally ok, particularly if buying from dealers with high sales and good rep. If it’s anything rare (ish), with few copies listed, the price will usually be the price of the last one...

    TV Series

Came across it by chance last night. Other half is Irish, so we gave it a go. Didn’t realise it was meant to be a comedy, probably coz it wasn’t funny. Gave up on it after the first episode. Annoying characters, drivel for dialogue and pathetic plot. The Obamas should have stuck to politics...

777 Partners / Whatever the hell you like

Maybe we’re at cross purposes. Where I’m coming from is, assuming that clause reads as interpreted, the current status of 777’s application for EPL approval to purchase the club, is (or could be) legitimately rejected. If that hasn’t been formally determined and communicated to both Mosh and...

777 Partners / Whatever the hell you like

Is that deffo ? I had a look at the EPL rules and it expressly prohibits a change of ownership until all requirements are fulfilled. If at any time a non-compliant application is submitted, I would take that stipulation as empowering them (EPL) to reject that application. No, you can’t have a...
