TV Series

Just finished that tonight. What those people went through doesn't bare thinking about.
At the age of nine years old I visited Fort Perch Rock at New Brighton. There was a permanent exhibition which showed no holds barred pics of the events of concentration camps. Me seeing that has left a lifetime legacy of horror. I always shy away from such films, I simply cannot watch them.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas was enough for me.

Finished Shogun. Overall I enjoyed it but I did lose some interest towards the end. Cosmo Jarvis was annoying the entire season as well, felt like he was overacting the entire time.

Also lots of my mates go on about how awesome ancient Japan was but based on that show the entire population was terminally depressed, I don’t think I saw a single smile in the entire show.

I thought Cosmo Jarvis was outstanding.

Each to their own 👍

All life looks terrible before the 1920's, every single day looked like a massive drag. Nothing good to do.

then it was good for a bit. 30's to 50's seemed lame due to wars. 60's cool if you were over 16, 70's clearly very boring as people from that decade constantly tell you it's not. 80's onwards were good if you take away AIDS and the odd lasting dictatorship. 90's was a good vibe overall. Early 00 were a bit weird as in-between technologies and the millennium bug messed everything up. The recession was crap, not only because of jobs etc, but the people from the 70's pretended the 70's were good. They still haven't left that era.

A lot of crap now but day to day life isn't bad.

Apparently there's a season 2 of Shogun coming, according to Deadline. I don't trust modern writers to follow this one up without source material (book) to base it on, no matter how strongly I crave more from this universe.

Season 1 spoiler:
I also cannot see a second season delivering the same quality without a couple of the standout characters who died in the first one.

Anyone watched Bodkin yet? Looks interesting. Dark comedy thriller set in Ireland.
Came across it by chance last night. Other half is Irish, so we gave it a go. Didn’t realise it was meant to be a comedy, probably coz it wasn’t funny.

Gave up on it after the first episode. Annoying characters, drivel for dialogue and pathetic plot.

The Obamas should have stuck to politics, it’s made by their production company, so maybe aimed at a weird US audience.
