    Dyche In Or Out

Yes, we are pretty dreadful right now. But we'd be on 29 points and pretty comfortable without the 10pt deduction - and that's nothing to do with Dyche. 29 points with this limited squad is solid enough. Not saying Dyche is a long-term solution but he's done pretty well.

Match Thread Everton v Fulham - Match Report & MotM Poll

One of those games where it could have gone either way, just needed a decent fifth penalty. Despite what Dyche says, the players do look tired, unsurprisingly. Intensity of press was not there. Hopefully, Spurs are in the same boat, with their injuries. I see some people are saying we won't...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

The thing I don't get about the Dyche bashing is: the thinking that we should somehow be playing a brand of football that we've rarely played, and when we tried to play it, folks ripped into the manager, eg, e.g., Martinez, for pointless possession and going nowhere with the ball. It was just...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

Sorry, can't agree with this. That Dyche kept this squad in the Premier League is, for me, one of the standout achievements of an Everton manager, since Moyes. Our squad is small, limited skill-wise, and mostly mentally weak. Ok, not like there's been a ton of competition in the manager awards...

    2022/23 Conor Coady

Sounds about right. As a senior player he’d be on big wages, but guess Dyche wants to spend those wages and first team regulars. Clearly, we are skint….

We had a good pattern of play first half, until Patterson went off injured, and then DCL followed shortly after. That messed things up hugely. But a point, after going behind and looking empty up front, is at least something.

Who knows if a point will be enough, ultimately. But one shred of hope: looks like the team is figuring out how to play with DCL's in the side. Finally movement and a bit threat up front. Woo hoo.....

    2022/23 Sean Dyche

I take your point, but apart from Tark. none of our center backs are up to much. Hobson's choice.

    2022/23 Sean Dyche

The biggest problem is the mix'n'match squad that is just flat out poor. Dyche basically couldn't sign anyone in the two days he had, and now he's stuck with these players. I bet he thinks some are utter garbage who wouldn't be anywhere near a starting 11 under normal conditions, but it is what...

    Relegation 2022/23

Agreed. The team I keep thinking of is Leeds, circa 2004. Relegation, financial meltdown and dropping down to the third tier. And that's a much better scenario than my other example, Sheff Wed....long term fixture of the top flight, get relegated, and have not looked like coming back since. At...

    2022/23 Seamus Coleman

Sorry, but Hibbert was absolutely and categorically not better than Coleman. Hibbert was a player of his time, in a team of its time. Gritty and defensively minded. Maybe not so much now, but Coleman offered miles more going forward.

    2022/23 Dwight McNeil

McNeil = this year's Alex Iwobi.

    2022/23 Jordan Pickford

Sorry, but not having that. I get it that you think he should stay on his line rather than try and narrowly the angle/create pressure. Entitled to your opinion, good luck to you. But an error? Nope.

    2022/23 Abdoulaye Doucouré

Ability wise, he’s ok. Lacks composure in front of goal, but who doesn’t in this team. Actually keeps possession well. Doesn’t manipulate the ball in tight spaces but his one touch stuff is decent. Not just a runner, though his running stats must be impressive

    The impending forward crisis

Are we really dismissive? Feels more like we just haven't been able to do it properly. Benitez bet his managerial life on it, then DCL got injured; Lampard wanted to play proper football, unsuccessfully, and so now Dyche is embracing the crossing thing again....Doesn't feel like fans dismiss it...

    2022/23 Alex Iwobi

He seems perfect for Dyche - hardworking player on the flank who does his defensive work (not perfect, I know..). While his crossing isn't the best, he's one of our few creative outlets.

    2022/23 Anthony Gordon

Totally agree with this - you look at Gordon, looking for something exceptional, that will confirm his talent. Yes, he's slippery over five yards, changes direction and so on, but he never seems to really threaten the goal. Weak shot, for sure. As you say, maybe he'll become a killer winger or...

    Dyche is the man

Given the situation, I'm okay with Dyche.... Yes, I'd love Pochettino. I'd love 500 mil in transfer fees. But it is what it is right now.

    Marcelo Bielsa

Why do you think he's not appeasing the fans? To me, he went with Allardyce and later went with Benitez, then felt the ire of the fans, then went with Lampard, who was a popular choice (sad it didn't work out), and now another name that many fans have been vocal about for a while (but who...

    Marcelo Bielsa

Can't help but feel that Moshiri is driving the bus and Moshiri is now trying hard to please the fans. But do the fans know best? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Cards on the table, I'd go for an attritional-type manager, who might grind out enough points for survival.
