Match Thread Everton v Dynamo Kyiv Friday 29 July 7.45pm KO.

I don't know if Paul Stratton posts here - but well taken penalty lad! The celebration was ace.

    2021/22 Yerry Mina

Thought some here might be interested in some comments Yerry has made back to Colombian media on his injuries last season: "It was a difficult season, frustrating, feeling impotent, I wanted to show what I am, the talent I have. Some of the injuries were my own fault, because I always give the...

    Confirmed Signing Anwar El Ghazi

Should really get a run out for Everton. At least a shot.

    What a day….

What? No one thought that other than a few folks here. Lampard immediately makes much more sense as he doesn't have a history of feuding with the team's most high profile player and commercial asset, isn't forever associated to Everton's arch rival, and hasn't (that I know of) insulted Everton.

Managers who would be doing a worse job than Benitez

I'd like to see Rafael open up for Texas!

Not in the call up for Colombia's November qualifiers including missing the trip to play away in Brasil.

    2021/22 Yerry Mina

Mina hasn't played a friendly for Colombia in eternity (they haven't played any due to COVID). These are all WC qualifying matches and they are all grueling in South America. There are no Macedonia's or Faroe Islands... Even when you play away at Bolivia or Ecuador you are at crazy altitudes...

    2021/22 Yerry Mina

He may have had injuries in the past but this seems silly to judge him by. He's played three matches in a week - all 0-0 ties where he's had to play with intensity till they final whistle and the last match went 105 minutes because of awful refereeing. How can anyone be surprised he is having...

Mina was immense. He is in fine form and full of confidence.

    2021/22 Yerry Mina

He triggered Pogba with it, who should have been sent off for that supplex. And I mean, when you have a chance to do the dougie in the face of United fans at Old Tratford... You do the dougie...

    2021/22 James Rodriguez

This made me laugh on Twitter. You wanna know how much Benitez hates James? He shows up at Madrid, James is playing out of his mind, even scores to help Rafael win his debut, playing like this: And Benitez is like "nope. Don't like it."

    2021/22 James Rodriguez

His wages are especially a big financial issue when he isn't going to play in Benitez system.

    2021/22 James Rodriguez

Ah yes. I will miss the posts here often comparing James' play to sex. Let's remember those moments and move on.

Indeed. Peter Reid is gone. I hope you can cope!

    2021/22 James Rodriguez

I was asked how the Colombian media was covering the story. I'm pretty confident they don't know Peter Reid.

    2021/22 James Rodriguez

No. Benitez is despised in Colombia for ages already. The minute Carlo left, people joked on Twitter, "now imagine if they were to hire Benitez!" It was such a ridiculous idea given association with Liverpool and seemed impossible given the fact that he hates James (and would therefore be a...

    2021/22 James Rodriguez

He is getting destroyed in the Colombian press for the step down. As with a lot of players who reach this kind of stature for a country (think Beckham at height of his fame) - he is a polarizing figure around whom it's easy to generate clicks with any hot take. The lazy narrative there is...
