Player Valuation: £150m
........tens of millions of them needed to close that gap highlighted today. That's no reflection on the character and honesty of our players. Moyes is getting EVERYTHING out of those lads. They can hold their heads up high.

But incremental change wont do it when other's above are continuing to rake it in and those below us are getting financially stronger. Hopefully, as Moyes stated, we're nearing the begining of the end of one period of the club's history and another, trophy laden period is around the corner. He's done his bit.

Gutted but hopeful.

Salary capping every squad in every organised league in the world would be a great leveller.

While rich clubs get richer, where are the best players going to go? To the clubs who will pay them the most and why wouldn't they?

If the Premiership had started 10 years earlier, the money would have come to us because we already had the best team and winning trophies.
Subjective, but that is my view.

Love you fella but you certainly dont miss a chance to turn it on Bill.

He's clearly gutted as the rest of us today, give him a break just for this weekend.

I'm consciously trying to avoid that here, chico. My point is more that we cant point at the players today, as they're performing - obvious individuakl mistakes notwithstanding - to their limit. Moyes checked himself post match from saying he needs a better class of player to finish teams like Chelsea off. He's right, and we know how that gets rectified. There's no point in us saying this player should have done this and that player shoukd have done that and scapegoat players.

Couldnt help but think today that if we had won the day the way Chelsea had just by spending wonga the trophy would be tainted.

That's all well and good, mate, and I half agree with you. But the days of a Corrinthian spirit winning out in todays football against organisations like Chelsea on a stage like that are, I feel, long gone.

Proud of Everton, as always.

You cant point at the players for putting in a gutless performance? Well i certainly can, i am disgusted with that team today. Simply embarrassing

You underestimate Chelsea there. They dont just have vastly more experienced and talented players to us, they were also very disciplined and motivated today. In retrospect it can be seen now that after that Barcelona loss, that was a perfect storm heading our way today.

Wouldnt say that mate, I'd say they had better players and it showed.

Probably a bridge too far. They very nearly put the eventual European Cup winners out a couple of weeks ago.

Chill, were in good company here and we'll get better.

This comment says it all, we had Chelsea in a Cup Final! This team was in the Champions League Final the year before and 3 minutes from a second appreance in the Champions League Final... So I think we should give the Everton boys on the pitch today some praise for making a good go of it, yea we lost and didn't create many chances but thats down to the fact we played a team that is in the top four in this country and top four of Europe!

We will be back... (y)
