It's the good players who win football matches, and good players cost money.

Would you rather we didn't go for it, sat on the cash and won less matches?

And before you say Ross Barkley remember he wants out. He does not want to play for us.
No. I'd rarher we kept all our best players and spent cash.

...just like the big hitters do.

Ah well. Maybe after the next takeover eh?

Swansea have said for 3 weeks now the price is 50 million,And in fairness to them that's what they want...

In their eyes if we've got 45mil to spend we've obviously got the 50 they are asking,So even if you think he's worth it or not its Everton that are pissing round.
Not just because it's Everton, but I genuinely feel sorry for siguardsson. He last season (along with llorente) single handedly kept Swansea in the premier league and the associated 150m riches that come with it. Everton make more than acceptable offer for the lad, his last chance at a major move and one the lad welcomes. I don't know what siguardsson's entitlement (or any player for that matter) with regard what they make with regard to a transfer, but I see his only option is to hand in a formal transfer request and lose his percentage on the fee.

So let me get this right

We don't spend - Mosh is a fraud...we've not spent any money, it's all about NET spend etc etc
We try and compete - it's too much for this particular player.

Leicester put in a bid for 40m lads, yes thats right Leicester offered 40m! maybe another 5m is not that far fetched after all.

How did you keep your best players when they want to leave Dave ?

No really I'm curious how when a player has decided for what ever reason ?

No he hasn't Dave, not by a damn long shot. Ross has done this to himself. All he had to do was what Rom done, say either way if he was staying or wanted out, the silence from his camp has been deafening unless you believe the reports of him pricing himself out of a move by asking for more than he's worth
Silence? Be better if his manager went on silence over contract negotiations...we might not be looking like getting ripped off over Barkley's price if he had.

I'd take it off his wages.

Come on mate we have been in their position on numerous occasions. They have every right to play hardball. I just hope we walk away now

Last time we go ripped off on a deal was arguably Rooney and it was necessity. Arguably we have ripped off most teams since then.

Lukaku and Stones didn't want to stay. Barkley, it appears, doesn't want to stay either. The duty of the club then becomes to do the best business possible.

I'm not happy when our best players leave but at least we aren't getting bent over on the price.

£75M for Lukaku?

Mugged by United again.

I guess most people want Barkley to stay but he got to sign the new contract and committed to Everton.

Lennon, McCarthy, Tarashaj, Robles, Niasse, Garbutt and Rodriguez etc...I see no problem of selling backup to generate funds.

Forget about this sell on value issue. There are loads of players who have resell values.
Ha ha.

Have you not registered how this club has done business for 15 years?

This would be a problem if we weren't minted. Are Chelsea, City or United overly concerned about resale value?
The points tally total of our season with or without the player dictates whether the player is worth it.

You think we're "minted"?

Good grief.
