It's what alternatives we have to consider that would most interest me.
Obviously that's for the club behind closed doors but if we want to act big or better in relation to the clubs we consider our peers, we move on from Sigurdsson and sign someone else.
This type of scenario is surely the essence of what Walsh and Koeman would have expected to unfold at least once this summer, and most inevitably after Lukaku leaving has left us looking cash rich to the clubs below.
Chelsea failed very publicly to sign Lukaku after a much more cynical and concerted effort to get him. But they moved on and signed what I consider to be a much better player ultimately in Morata. No messing, they did what was needed to get him, and quick.
Don't get me wrong I'm impressed, very, with our business to date, but this situation will show what we are made of.
