Sure, we are waiting to sell players because we are willing to spend 45 million, but not 50 million.

That makes no sense. If we were waiting to sell players we wouldnt be willing to spend 45.

Perhaps the hold up is that the club don't want to out 50 million down on him and are negotiating alternatives to paying more?

I mean what is the point in having money if you bend over completely to every club you talk to? Principle of it, we get a slightly smaller deal for the player who is clearly coming here and we show a little bit of a backbone

So am I, but I'm coming from a place of cynicism having seen Moshiri's Everton not spending until selling Stones last summer.

Still all has to be proven in my eyes, because we still haven't really spent anything yet.

Ideally, we're sat here with a new striker and attacking midfielder of high quality at the minimum in September and this discussion is moot.
