This situation needs sorting one way or the other ASAP. Swansea have set a price for their star man, whether you agree with the figure or not, and it's up to Everton to match it. We do the same year on year with clubs trying to poach our top players.

If we do get him in we're going to be paying £50m for a player who hasn't played any preseason games and will take weeks to get up to speed. After a good start to the window I think the board are letting Koeman down by failing to sort replacements for Barkley & Lukaku ahead of the new season. I agree with all of this.
When you try to extricate a Premier League teams best player, expect to pay top dough. You are essentially paying a premium for less risk as the player is already proven in the prem. You may pay less for a player in a European league, but they have to relocate, acclimatise to being in the uk, get up to speed with a fast physical league, settle into the team, learn the language, get used to the food, get used to the climate, play through Christmas, maybe find schools for children, find a house, etc. After all that, they may not adapt to the league or uk culture.
