Watched it in a pub full of united fans and was advised to leave before the final whistle by the landlord, well worth it though!

no it would've been a few less because of the economic downturn and the depressing implications of socio-urban decay

aye...that and man utd having devalued it back in 2000 (and in the 2009 semi), and with UEFA not offering a Champs League spot for winning it meaning finishing 4th is more 'valuable' than winning the oldest cup competition in the world...maybe some of these things also devalue it in the eyes of the more casual blues.

Was you also around for 1985? I bet that homecoming after beating Rapid Vienna was amaaaazing!

problem with modern day football is unless you go the final you get what 20 mins or so of seeing the team lift the cup then that's it its not heard off ive not seen or heard wigan once with the FA cup I find the coverage of the domestic cups to be terrible in this league the race for top 4 is given more spotlight in the media

what's that got to do with the 1995 FA Cup competition mate ?

it's related to you talking about mass crowds at trophy homecomings.

was just wondering if that 300,000 from '95 was matched or even bettered in previous trophy homecomings.

no idea lad, just remember Granada Reports saying how many it was,

to be fair it were only 8 trophyless years (1987-1995).

funnily enough i'm finding more pics of the '66 homecoming than the '95 one:

anyone found more pics of the '95 homecoming?

Back in the days when it was the only live game on TV all year here.

and 3 oclock kick off the week after the end of the footbll season, and no spare corporate seats that lower the atmosphere. God I ****ing hate the sell out nature of the FA.
