Will be in and around our transfer budget in the summer according to the N.O.W. via the BBC is it enough?

No, I think we seriously need at least £30m, but I am not the Chairman, and I only have tuppence to my name.

Also Everton are prepard to let A.J. go according to tomorows chip paper today!

If we got better I'd say yes, if not, no. I'd also add that Moyes would need to buy first before he sells, which would go against his normal practise.

I personally wouldn't want AJ to go - but nobody is expendable.

Undobhtedly A.J. has been good for us, but when you look at Pompeys model of letting good players go i.e. bejani, taylor etc and replaceing them with even better ones like say Defoe, Kranjcar there may be some value in it depending on who would come in and on the price for AJ would be hard to turn down 15 mill form city or west ham.

I'm a massive fan of AJ, I'd be gutted if we let him go. I think we should be looking at keeping all four of our strikers and adding one more over the summer. Since Faddy left we've often looked a bit short up front.

20 mill is a fair whack and comparable with most outside the gruesome 4. Going to be interesting to see who we bring in

Nowhere near enough. Has David Moyes been pissing in the wind with his comments aimed at the board to bridge the gap with the SKY 4? It looks like it if this is the case. We need to spend nearer to what Man City spent last season than what we spent last season (and retain our better players...AJ being one).

This is a recipe for treading water at best.

if AJ leaves, then id want Bent in. scores whenever hes played and much more of an ariel threat than Johnson. cant see AJ leaving but spurs are having a clear out so a bid for Bent isnt out of the question.

20m is not enough!
Aston villa, man city, portsmouth, spurs and newcastle will all at least have 50m.
Spurs have just signed one player for 15m. we would have 5m left.

if kenwright gives moyes 20m we will be linked/in compatiton for players with the likes of wigan, bolton, birmingham and sunderland.
This is not good enough and we will start to loose ground and become a mid table team.
moyes has done well with the money he has had for the last two seasons but without serious financial surport i would bet my house we will finish closer to 10th than 4th in upcoming seasons.

I would sell AJ he isnt good enough.
Moyes most important signing will be a top notch assistant who understands how football should be played! and not one of his pals who will carry on with this long ball nonsence.

I will be leaving for the match at 1pm giving myself plenty of time to get bladdered! if moyes plays neville and carsley in the midfield i will be back in the pub for 4.05pm!!!!.

Has anyone renewed their season ticket with the early bird offer?

Just a thought, but maybe Everton have deliberately given this figure out so that everyone thinks "oh, we're skint", rather than us saying a higher figure and having clubs/agents hold us to ransom (such as with Fernandes/Nugent etc)

£20m would be just about adequate assuming the squad is not depleted in any way. I would say that £30m would be enough to make a serious change to our playing style. But funding that is hardly a simple affair.

With reference to AJ, if he was sold then that money would need to go towards the purchase of another striker. I fancy Owen (in footballing terms) and believe if we made a concerted effort to unsettle him, that he would move down here. He's never been comfortable at Newcastle, and the prospect of playing up front with Yak could be an attractive one.

We love AJ but he is at the age where his performance would drop within a season or two, and he is worth the most at the moment, is best to sell him and buy 2~3 great young player in early 20s.

We have young striker coming through and we needed more tranfers fees to get the right player to move the team forward, if it mean selling AJ would get us the additional fund to do so, then so be it.

To be honest, I don't think AJ is really settled here and he probably would be interested in a move to a club down south. As far as the fee goes, I'd be surprised if it went above the £6m mark.
