2014 College Football Thread

I need some Americans to clear something up for me. I love American Football, watch the NFL every weekend and it's only second to football for me. But what's the deal with College Football? I get the aspect of it and all I understand it and the whole system, but what I don't get the mass support for it? If anyone could explain that'd be great because I've always thought it'd be like me supporting Everton U21's and not Everton...

College Football is like supporting Everton; NFL is like supporting England.

This dude is 6'9 290 lol what a beast

Had a great time at the Fiesta Bowl despite the result. Though if you fall behind 21-0 in the first 8 minutes, it made the rest of the game MORE enjoyable. You expect the loss at that point so the team clawing back to make a game of it was great. Good friends, good times. Even got to have a beer with Wildcat legend/long time Buffalo Bill and NY Giant, Glen Parker. Good dude.

Many Evertonians like to say that following Everton can be very difficult at times. You have no idea what’s it’s like to be a Pitt Panther fan. I saw them today play the University of Houston in the Armed Forces bowl. They played outstanding on both sides of the ball for about three quarters and in the fourth we couldn’t stop Houston’s defense at all, gave up big plays late in the quarter, allowing Houston to get back in the game with that and not being able to recover two onside kicks in a row.

Just when I thought Pitt couldn’t outdo them in terms of stupidity, they achieve a level of stupidity and embarrassment that I never seen before from this team and I’ve seen a lot of stupidity.

@ESPNStatsInfo: Houston erased a 25-point deficit in 4th quarter, the largest 4th quarter comeback in bowl history”

Ugh.

F'n Pitt man, but I keep coming back to matter how many times they disappoint me because I love them so much (I’m a loyalist in general when it comes to the teams I back). That and I don’t allow losses to get the best of me, just in one ear and out the other.

Hell this wasn't even the most Pitt thing in the past 60 days.

Not to mention the 19 yard FG miss at the end of regulation against Duke.

Don't get me started with the Duke game. The game was won and all we had to do was make a short distance FG and was shanked. The worse of that game was all the awful puns I had to hear afterwards because our FG kicker's last name is Blewitt.

Watched my first College Football game last night, mainly out of excitement for the wildcard games tonight... I read somewhere that he wasn't Oklahoma's starting QB but Mason Rudolph looked brilliant

Keep in mind that we were in middle of the field, and decided to run another play that lined him up on the far right hashmark for some inexplictable reason. I keep thinking for at least one season Pitt's luck is going to change, it never changes. Narduzzi's 1st order of business is to get them to play consistently for 60 minutes.

Been getting into College ball this year because I discovered it's shown over here.

Really like watching Oregon because of their tempo. Patriots fan and it's so much better to watch when we go up tempo.

Looking forward to the National game now after the Rose and Sugar Bowls, two really good games I thought.
