Deffo thought it would be a hung result mate. And my position on the role the SNP might have played in that has been consistent for ages, going back to the referendum debates we had.

I dont share the description of them being "monsters" as it happens. Nor do I subscribe to the narrative that on Monday morning Whitehall will be crawling with Gerald Scarff cartoons hunting out the most vulnerable to attack as malingers and servs to be destroyed.

I may well be sorry in 2 years time, because the right wing of the the Tories, by then, could hold a gun to Camerons head, on Europe in particular.

But I would rather have a majority Government, of either shade, rather than a minority one dependent on a single(ish) issue party with zero interest in the welfare of the English, Welsh, or Northern Irish. Rich or poor.

Genuinely, do you think our stance of hatred of the Tories compared to yours depends on what you see where you live? I live in a very deprived area and can see it's affects first hand.

I would like to make the observation that the Tories didn't win based on their policies. If they did, then 36% of the nation voted for food banks and poverty. I genuinely don't believe that was the case.

What happened was that people voted out of fear. They were scared by negativity. I understand it. However, this is why I hate the Tory party and UKIP. They win by spreading fear. It is ruining our nation.

Compare this to the VE commemorations yesterday. People faced unimaginable terror without that fear winning.

How things have changed.

Indeed, a bunch of socialist rabble have defaced the monument.........

I agree with you on that.

... because it only took 24 hours to start.

Of course. I dont "hate" the Labour Party, nor do I "Love" the Tories. But my experience of the more extreme wing of the Labour Party/Unions, in the 70's has certainly shaped my opinion of the danger, in my opinion, of the return to that. Now I fully accept that those days are long gone, but then so are those of Thatcher, but folk still have their political opinions framed by their own experience.

Where do I live? In a dead safe Tory place. Liam Fox is the MP.

Am I rich? Nope. But although I initially supported Blair, the LP under him even, consistently ignored and misunderstood the issues that affect rural folk like me.

That's fair enough. Although I wouldn't say the Thatcher days are gone, give it a few years.

I come from a VERY affluent town. I see a lot of relative poverty and the lifeblood of the community being sucked away as locals can no longer afford to live and work in the area.

It's no wonder Labour continue to be popular in cities though, is it?

Sure as eggs is eggs: after a couple of years of this lot in power, unrestrained and slashing through the length and breadth of this land with their ideologically driven agenda you will find NO ONE who will put their hand up to voting this shower in a couple of days ago. NO ONE.

All the hand wringers who claim they had 'no choice' = vanishing act.

Seen it all before under Thatcher. No one ever knew how that monstrous oxygen thief ever became elected because there was no evidence of her supporters. And it'll happen again.

It will be like 1981 all over again.

Massive cutbacks in public services, anti-union legislation enacted, unemployment rate through the roof, manufacturing industries decimated, people left without hope, riots on the streets.

And NO ONE would admit to having voted in 1979 for the person that was doing this.

So she had a war to get them back onside, and the rest is history.
