2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Our point today means Ipswich need 5 wins and a draw out of 8 (or 4 wins and 4 draws), Wolves getting 7 points isn’t guaranteed either with their fixtures if they lose today.

That’s if we lose 7 in a row to end the season including Ipswich and Southampton at home.
We had damn well better not come away with anything other than a win against Southampton in what will be Goodisons last game.

15 clear with 7 games to go

Everton would have to be at their most Everton to not be safe now
Southampton now cannot catch us. Both of Leicester and Ipswich need to lose twice. If that happens, nothing else matters. Leicester aren't on my radar. They look absolutely shot.

But I do not want even the slightest whiff of hope for the Tractor Boys by the time they visit us.

Chelsea should waltz it next week v Ipswich. My worry is Arsenal will be a tad knackered after their second leg vs Real. That's got 'upset' rubber stamped through it.

Ipswich with just 7 home points all season, can't get my head around that.

Lost every single home game since that shock win over Chelsea on December 30th.

Their away form isn't that bad, on a par with a few mid table sides but not given themselves any chance at Portman Road.

Probably because at home they come out and attack teams, then get picked apart. Probably best just playing with a low block and on the counter, home and away.

They signed way too many attackers in both windows. Central midfield remained mediocre and as I said at the time Godfrey as their sole defensive purchase for laughable for a side who seemingly wanted to stay up and he's been sacked off after five games.

See if McKenna can learn from it as clearly not ready to manage higher up yet.

Will this be the quickest confirmed relegation, even quicker than Derby was, whatever match they were confirmed

If Saints lose today

The only interesting thing left with this bottlm three is the question of if Southampton will be able to cobble together two more points to stop them leaving or doing even worse then Derby County in 07-07.
