2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

When is the games we should win then, can see your point but thing is we have won 3 games this season. Will agree forest in good form this season, but what about bournemouth away is that another game you dont think we should win. The simple fact is we need to pick up points because this squad is getting dropping right into trouble.
I would suggest any matches against the bottom 6-7. Not only are they the teams we can realistically have a go at, they are also the ones we directly compete with. I would suggest giving Wolves 3 points is way worse for us than giving Chelsea 6.

For me the problem is we have won 3 games and i am worried now, we simply dont have any attacking threat. Will this change in jan maybe but i have massive questions on the manager and i am worried about dropping down into trouble, is fine if you dont want to be worried but for me next week is another tough game. If we get beat and results go against us in big trouble and puts pressure on every game then

A team we done the double over last season and finished below us, on the back of holding the 3 strongest squads in the league to draws. Today was a massive chance to go into the new year with some confidence and pull away from the teams below us and that gets served up
Living in the past will do nothing for our chances. How has last season helped City win the league?

I think is naive to say Forest were supposed to be below us just because they were last season. If you recall Forest spent a fortune(and was docked points for it) on a complete overhaul of their roster. It nearly sunk them because as everyone knows, it takes time for players to bed in. But that gamble just BARELY paid off and now the players they spent vast sums on have seasoned another year together. Ive been told on these forums over and over again that we have to spend on talent or else we wont get better. Now we have another team that spent a lot on talent, and Im told they are "supposed" to be worse than us because at some point in the past they were.

They spent 357m in the past 2.5 years to upgrade their squad, a net spend of +213m while we were -79m. They added a WHOPPING 300m more in talent than us in the past 3 years and are "supposed" to be worse than us because last season they finished lower?

Half way through the season we have played everyone apart from our postponed game. Surely this applies to all teams
Yes but if you've played certain teams at home where others have played them away then you haven't strictly had the same fixtures. I'm not saying I agree with it but there is a logic there from a purely statistical / probability point of view.

For instance Forest at home would be seen as more of a likelihood for points than Forest away. If at the start of the season you were offered the chance to pick one of those games to put a tenner on Everton with equal odds for both then you'd likely opt for the home game.

Who would they get if they went the De Rossi club legend route? Struggling to actually think of an active manager who qualifies.

Had to laugh at Coleen Rooney being in the crowd today. Even she's given up on Rooney's managerial career (he'll be sacked by Plymouth very soon).

I think Baines as a caretaker will probably happen for a game or two but far too early to consider him as manager.
