2024/25 Relegation Thread

We'll do what we always to. Start picking up a point here and there after sacking the latest clown in the dugout. The new guy will help us achive a little purple patch around March/April that ultimately makes the difference for us stumbling over the line and staying up despite all our efforts to go down.

In trying to distance myself from the car crash that's happening in front of my very eyes, I'm strangely relaxed about matters at the moment.
Maybe because we're battle hardened due to the last three seasons where we generally get what's needed at the end of the season. This time though it's me relying on the many number of years watching football and seeing clubs of all levels going on daft runs like we are at present.
I genuinely see us settling down and once we get a win we'll pick up and go on a run.
Needs to be done over next six weeks though.

Southampton are pretty bad like.. but yeah currently we're second worst.
I hate this type of negativity. Yes, we have lost 4 games, however two of them we went 2-0 ahead. I actually think we have looked ok in the last two games. However I would rather play poorly and win a game. But we aren’t second worst. There’s only been 4 games. I think after say 15 games you will get a better idea.

Not really bothered about the game against Southampton midweek apart from a win might be a confidence boost. Back to the PL we really need to win at Leicester and then Palace at home. Lose those two and the alarm bells will be ringing very loudly. Currently there are a lot of teams struggling to get points but they will eventually and we simply can not afford to get cut adrift in a losing rut that is difficult to escape from
Unfortunately it might be a false positive if we beat them with an unchanged side as they're absolutely crap - as bad as us - and it would give the manager another excuse to keep his mates in the side as they would be deemed to have reacted well to yesterday's defeat with an improved performance worthy of staying in the side against Leicester - where of course they'd revert to type and ship another 3 or 4 goals.

One positive for us is that I originally thought the league was stronger this year than last. But I actually now feel the likes of Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich aren't really any better than the like of Luton and Burnley were last season. Secondly the other teams down there like Palace, wolves and Brentford seem to be weaker too
