2024/25 Relegation Thread

I noticed this with regards to the Ipswich fans, and agree that you have a point with regards to pressure on players being different for different clubs.

Not entirely sure though that their reaction to a meaningless consolation was particularly positive. Think it exposed a total loser mentality. The lad who scored celebrated like it was a late equaliser, and the wacky funsters in the away end were either genuinely overjoyed, or thought celebrating gleefully would be a “laugh”. Half of them are probably kopites on the sly who had their absolute perfect day out.

Putting aside the fact that losing 4-1 at Anfield has a specific difference for us, I would be absolutely fuming if we reacted like that to a late consolation in a battering against Chelsea for example. It’s something that separates us from these type of clubs and while that might create a pressure, that is probably a good thing.
Oh I agree, it’s cringey and embarrassing. Every single part of a club needs to be desperate to win and despise losing to survive at the top level.

Just thought it was an incredible contrast in terms of the “comfort level” of players. We can give someone like Myko a couple of MofM’s for shutting down world class wingers, then shouting how utterly cack he is the very next week when we have a limp performance against an average side. Utter hatred sometimes 😂. He alluded to it with a chuckle in his interview with Giulia. He does hear it, but he understands it from the fan perspective. Which is I guess the optimum in terms of motivation.

It's not disastrous for us if Leicester win today. It keeps Spurs within 1pt, and our gap to 18th remains exactly the same at 7pts (effectively 8pts if you consider our superior GD). It's only 18th place team that's changed.

We want Spurs to win. There is no upside to Spurs losing points. We are not going to finish above them this season.
There is an upside to Spurs losing points as there is a good number of us that will be having a good laugh at the site of one of the sky 6 hovering around the bottom 6. Don`t see why its a certainty that we won`t finish above them as they are just as likely to lose games as any other at the moment. They`ve nearly lost as many games as Ipswich.
