Why would a chairman have no power over decisions? If there was a decision taken that the Chairman did not agree with, he is the elected chair of directors and can veto it and if he can't he should resign on principal.

He overseas the day to day running, but that's it.
This is the problem we have, it's why the sack the board shouts are counter productive, the last thing we need is Moshiri bringing in his people, then we die.

My understanding from you is that he is powerless to veto all of the bad decisions by Farhad and his good thinking is not listened to at all. What I don't follow is what change would happen when he left?

Exactly this , he was so appalled by Benitez he just hung on and collected his salary, ask why Kenwright appointed prentice ( the mute communications guy) and Graeme Sharp to the board ? What we need is a full overhaul, the value the stadium gives us should easily find a buyer, but until then the only thing that matters is staying top flight, we have to see this out, get the dock and still be top flight then we can rebuild, our remit as fans is to do everything we can to support the players and manager, and nothing else
