The sporting advantage is having the ability to spend more money than we should have had. Spending the money badly doesn't mean we didn't have an unfair advantage in the first place.

On one hand, we have posters stating that more money doesn't give you a sporting advantage whilst at the same time complaining about the financial advantage the Big 6 have.

3 - Your big problem isnt the 10 pts, its Burnley and Leicester. Leeds, Southampton etc.....have very small claims, which amount to a couple of million for being 'cheated' out of a place in the league, but neither resulted in a substantial impact. Burnley and Leicester however..........You could easily be looking at a couple of hundred million compensation and all the fun and games that come with that.

4 - This is for the 21-22 season. Your still not compliant with FFP today, so need to fix that pronto or you'll be proper hammered. As a result, there is an urgent need to sell players and reduce the wage bill - and forget about strengthening. I think this (and the 3rd point) are your main issues. The 10 pts won't mean a whole lot and is short term - a big compensation bill and a wage bill that is hugely out of kilter with your revenue are longer term problems that could bury you for a good long time.

Thank God we've finally got the view from Jim from Leeds. I've been waiting since the judgement and was thinking I was never going to hear it. Now that I have, I've seen the error of my ways and no longer believe that this penalty was a predetermined stitch up in a naked attempt to prevent a government mandated regulator and that the whole thing was made up on the spot with no clear rules or decision making processes, it is in fact justice.
Thank you Jim, for your totally objective analysis as a supporter of a team who was relegated whilst we were not. In many ways you are the hero we need in this dark time.

I disagree. A sporting advantage is an on field advantage.

A financial advantage is spending more money than others.

What you've just described is a financial advantage.
 

Well it seems they've made a rod for their own back and if they continue the championship will become the premier league because Where there's money there's corruption and considering its a non profitable organisation the Premier league is rife with [Poor language removed] bags from around the globe

A sporting advantage would be having 11 players on a pitch, while your opponent only has 10.

A financial advantage is when you have 11 players on the pitch because you can afford it and your opponents can't.

The effect of the financial advantage are measured by counting the players on the pitch.

There have however been plenty of times 10 players have beaten 11. That's why sporting advantage is so difficult to quantify. It can be inferred that a sporting advantage exists, but you cannot judge whether that means 1 point gained, 3 points gained, or actually no change at all.

I'd love us to accrue enough points so that even if we got sued for hundreds of millions we could enter administration, renege on the debts owed and still stay up.

Then some white Knight buys us for a pittance, moves into stadium and we begin a new era.

In terms of the PSR breach, generally there has been a downward trend on both transfer spend and wages. We haven't gone out and splurged season after season like Chelsea. If there had been an upward trend in our spend on players, player wages and agents fees coupled with poor performance on the pitch that affected our revenues then we'd be bang to rights. If Chelsea were suddenly prosecuted for breaching PSR this season then that is clearly down to excessive spend in the transfer market, trying to obtain a competetive advantage.

There is no denying that the loss of our USM sponsorship coupled with the war in Ukraine, COVID and building a £760m stadium has hit our finances hard. These factors are the main culprits in our PSR exceedance. It isn't wild transfer spend to try and gain a sporting advantage over our rivals. We didn't go out and buy a £20m striker one January who fired us to safety.

I therefore can't agree that by exceeding PSR by £19.5m over a 4 year period we received an advantage over our peers. An advantage that was so great that we deserve a 10 point deduction and would have been relegated in lieu of someone else had we not exceeded the limit.

You should represent Everton at the next appeal hearing. Countering an allegation of over spend during the last 3 years with the argument that Everton are massive and have won more 1st division titles than some other teams - and if someone is over 50 or so they might even remember a couple - is bound to sway them to reduce any sanctions and immediately reject compensation claims.

And its 4 runner up spots in div2, a runner up in the 3rd tier and a Johnstone Paint Trophy 3rd place - get your insults right.

I've no interest in the childish idea that just because somebody thinks something different they must be RS, there's load of posters on here with varying different views on many subjects and 99% of them don't get called RS

You just come across like an RS in everything you write and so people call you RS. Simple as that really. Maybe if you are a toffee there's some writing style class you can go to that would help.

It's absolutely mindboggling to me why anybody would spend time in their life doing this. And that includes any toffees spending a long time posting on rawk

What is mindboggling is the disgraceful way some people jump to false conclusions because what someone else says doesn't fit in.
