If you mean it's not independent I agree, if you mean it's not the same pool if people it is. There are about 15 of them, 3 were picked for the original case, and a different 3 will be chosen for the appeal.

To be fair I did read something back end of last week in one of Martin Samuel’s columns I think which explained this.
Something along the lines of a group of retained PL names who they then pick to sit on panels and that’s how they came up with the first three stooges.
As bent as selecting Boxing judges all this. Hardly independent at all..

Murray Rosen KC is the head of the judicial panel, which has 15 members
“There are a total of 15 members on the judicial panel”
But why does the independent commission have to be made up of people on the judicial panel? That paragraph just says the independent commission is selected by the 15 members.

It means they pick 3 of the 15 for the hearing, and 3 different people out of the 15 for the appeal. If they want someone else for whatever reason, presumably if it's a very specific issue where you might need an external expert, they can bring one in.

Nope, they had a financial expert on the first panel, and there are others they can use.

No mate, there must be 3 of the 15 on any commission. they can have a 4th or more from outside that 15, but there must be 3 from the 15 Judicial Panel members.
