6 + 2 Point Deductions

Simple solution to all this would have been to have abided by the rules we signed up to.

I think Evertons point is, we were. Then things out of our control happened and when it became known to be a potential issue, we approached the PL about it who worked with us to ratify spend and manage P&S.

I understand that the release from the committee doesn't include all details, but the ones it does include seem to be spurious, opinion based and not at all backed up with fact or understanding.

Yes we are only 1 win away from being back out of the relegation zone but its a massive kick in the balls to the players and management.

Easy to say "a couple of wins and we'll be alright" but now it's massive pressure back on the players, massive pressure on Dyche to galvanise the players, massive pressure on recruiting in January "I don't think I'll risk signing for Everton now as they are relegation candidates".

It's another mental slog and won't be easy for the players to just shrug off. 10 points is a huge number to try and claw back, needing to find big wins because basically we're in mid November and on 4 points. Ideally coming up to NYE you want to be around the 20 point barrier.

It's such a negative impact to the club, potential investment or signings, players mindset as they're now in another scrap after the first time in ages finally being able to look up and think 1 more win could get us in the top half of the table.

It's absolutely scandalous. I've written to the PL and Masters as well @Mikey_Fitzgerald but mine contained about 200 more swear words than your more considered approach lol

Our best midfielder was injured and then not fully fit for the last few games and we still got the results. We're a mid table team this year and I think we will be fine. Obviously it's a bit of unneeded stress and I wouldn't say complete implosion is completely out of the question, but I think I'm still 95% we'll be safe. We're in a far better position than we were the last few years.
Injury to DCL and that's that.

Would be interested to see how they can show in legal proceedings that a punishment worse than entering administration is justified.

Especially considering administration is basically a club sayings “we can’t and won’t pay what is owed to our creditors.” I remember Leeds when they went in administration didn’t pay the money they owed to St John’s Ambulance, every single entity associated with a football club takes a massive hit. Meanwhile we have cooperated through the whole process and get ten points.

What an absolute crock of [Poor language removed]. The basically forced us to spend next to nothing to be in compliance with THEIR rules then turn around and say "nope, just kidding you still are going to be hit".

I honestly REALLY hope their are massive banners everywhere saying "BUT YOU CAN'T PUNISH THE SUPPORTERS OF THE SCAB 6" and the like. Not a single thing done to them. Im just apoplectic at how blatant the farce is.

Where have I suggested we should take huge sums of money from the premier league?

I suggested for example we should stop playing their theme song and the pre match ceremony and handshakes
We do. That's the point that seems to be eluding you.

Stop playing their theme song and taking part in pre match ceremonies indeed... that will show them.

:celebrate:

The fury over this will die down and we'll be slogging through games that don't go for us and the morale will be shattered.

We'll lose our way in January/February with injury and the pressure of it all.

Are people actually arguing here we'd have got 48/50 points this season - which is what we;ll have to do now.

No chance.
