6 + 2 Point Deductions

It's the context of the £89m loss that is the important thing.

We cut wage costs, we made 47m on transfers, and still lost Eighty Nine Million Pounds. And there is no pandemic argument anymore either.

This is a financial mess. This is not sustainable and I don't see any solution unless someone decides to just pump hundreds of millions into the club out of their own good will.
Dont forget that £89m loss also includes £210m for stadium costs, which will be capitalised and should not be part of the PSR calculation.

Our expenditure almost outstrips our income by 2:1. Wages take up almost 90% of our income. The club is hemorrhaging money and isn't a viable business and is relying on monthly payday loans to continue.

The club is on life support at the minute with a DNR in place.

The solution is to sell players that we can get any money for, don't give any new contracts out and any new players that come in are on contracts that allow us to move to a more sustainable wage to turnover level.

This is going to go one of two ways.

The club goes into administration and is relegated or the club has a fire sale in the summer and is relegated next season on the pitch. Either way it's going to be disastrous for the club.

I think I`d halt any panic attack some guys on here are having....

These accounts aren`t what we were hoping to see BUT they are the second lowest in the last 5 years...

YE2019 -£111,8m
YE2020 -£139.8m
YE2021 -£120.9m
YE2022 -£44.7m
YE2023 -£89m

You okay mate?

In the years we were losing £100m+ we were spending carelessly at the hands of a Russian oligarch.

Now, we're asset stripping the club and barely spending a penny on new investment yet we've doubled our losses.

Lots of reasons to be negative and concerned.

Now tell me we dont deserve another 10 points for that.
Because the maximum we can get is 8pts per offence! Unless we go into administration! Hehe

As a club, we are the equivalent of a former favourite high street brand, with a for sale sign, and closing down sale in it's window.

C'mon Goat see the bright side of Life... What would Eric Idle say now... 🤪

Even that takes probably 2 maybe 3 transfer windows and I don't even know if we have enough time for that. It almost certainly ends in relegation too, but maybe that's just something we have to accept and take our medicine.

In terms of players with value, I'm not even all that sure we have enough players and enough value to turn this around. Even if we sold them all in one go - especially since teams won't offer us market value if we are in desperate need of cash.

Pickford - £30m?
Onana - £50m?
Branthwaite - £60m?

After that, I think we would struggle to get £10m for any other player.
