Does anyone know the actual details of the deal?

It is very ominous that only the shares have been mentioned and use of the whole royal 'we' in that statement.

So away from all of rumors and supposition, what are 777 doing / have down that makes them so terrible?
I’ve seen the drug stuff re the head honcho (which I believe he said was from several year ago during his collage years), I’ve seen the protest banners in Belgium (but don’t know why they’re protesting) I’ve seen the clubs that have been relegated soon after they were purchased (but not sure how that’s 777’s fault)
Genuine question from someone who doesn’t know any real reasons to be concerned about this if it’s true?

I have a fundamental (if unfounded) fear of all US ‘investor’ motives and am i bit wary of these quotes about ‘hyper commercialization’ but am uneducated in the reality of this mob.
They just don't come across as a bunch who'll actively be that invested in our on-pitch performance. They've probably just seen the stadium and thought 'we'll have a piece of that!' which is typical behaviour of a multi-club investor who are all about the commercial side of the sport above all else.

We're surely bound to get our own Netflix or Prime Video series now.
Whatever else about the club, it's constant drama!
Might as well share it with those desperate enough to watch.

The statement itself was very telling & even quite candid, I thought. It was basically Moshiri openly admitting that he couldn't take us to the next level on his own..

'..the days of an owner/benefactor are seemingly out of reach for most and the biggest clubs are now typically owned by well-resourced PE firms, specialist sports investors or state owned companies and funds.'
.

It’s as mendacious a statement as I can ever remember - we aren’t in the state we are in because of a lack of resources, we are in the state we are in because of incompetence and years long toleration of waistrels.

I am very doubtful about 777 but if they turn up, complete the takeover and purge the failures then they’ll have my support.

It’s not about doing better than Moshiri. It’s about finding someone to reverse the decline of the club, perhaps that person/group doesn’t exist.

These guys could “do better” than Moshiri and we could still end up in the Championship and In administration
All true and you're right, maybe there is no one out there who can actually fix this.

But I know for sure that Moshiri and Bill aren't capable of turning the club around so I'd rather see someone else come in with new ideas and have a good go at it.

If we get relegated this year, lots will blame the new ownership but we are already extremely close to going down and have been for 2-3 years. The damage was done over the last several years and it's quite possible it can't be corrected in the next 6-9 months.

Not being disrespectful mate, but I don't like this phrase and I don't think it really means anything. We should always wish and hope for better. I don't wish for a whole lot, and I definitely didn't wish Everton to turn into what it has under Moshiri. I thoroughly dislike my own club under the leadership of BK and FM.

Getting to 40 points and about 15th place is what I wish for. I believe it is absolutely possible under new ownership. And I believe we were heading for financial ruin, and inevitable relegation under Moshiri.

so go and look at other clubs they own and they’re positions

except a french one in the equivalent of our league one

hey hey new owners hey hey

be careful what you wish for will bite you in the ass

If as fans we unite against this and present a truly united front to the relevant authorities expressing our concerns, it could have an impact. After years of division, maybe now is the time to unite.

Nope and guessing they wont get approved, another nail in our coffin this, Club is an abomination

Cos it's Everton it'll no doubt get knocked back.

But I do think they'll scrape through if they have some miraculous story of how they've got the money and where.

The multi club ownership will put them in good stead in terms of being "fit and proper" IMO to get them through the door

We're going to find out in a few weeks, but for this to be announced so publicly today, my guess is that it's as good as complete. Why would Moshiri agree to sell to people if he doesn't believe they actually have the money to pay him. Moshiri has been a terrible owner of the football club, but he's not daft.
What is the criteria you're using here Timmy?

Like everyone else, I've read some not-so-great things about them.

The couple of things I keep returning to though are that all the clubs 777 have bought appear to be ones where they've been a bit of a mess both on and off the pitch, so judging them on how these clubs have done in terms of results on the pitch seems a bit premature.

Effectively, they need to be given a couple of years before we start to pass judgement on what sort of owners they are. That isn't easy because there's an awful lot of stuff out there which appears to be cause for concern, but we effectively have two objectives currently - deliver the stadium and stay in the Premier League. If we can achieve that, by the time the beginning of the 25/26 season rolls around, we should have a reasonably clear slate to be working from.

On the bright side, 777 will appoint a new chairman and CEO and there's little chance that they'll meddle in transfers or the decisions about who our next manager should be. That's where footballing decisions will hopefully be left to people whose expertise is, shockingly, football.

Agree with all that.
Much of stories around how bad they are doing is just a false narrative.
No media or journos are mantioning either the context at each club or even the good stories of what they are doing.

What is certain, right now. Its a clean break, and what we all wanted.

We need to give them a chance.
