Think it’s fair to say 777 aren’t having a brilliant week

“According to an official club communiqué, Red Star FC manager Habib Beye will depart the club after choosing not to extend his contract following promotion to Ligue 2 as champions of France’s third tier. RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins reports that his departure was motivated by uncertainty over the club’s project, as owners 777 Partners become the subject of a major fraud claim in the United States.”

Played for Newcastle, no.

It wouldn't be a PR disaster for them. They're currently going through one now (VAR, FFP, independent regulator) but none of it is sticking and still cracking on as normal.

The PL would approve it if they tick the boxes they've told them to tick. Funnily enough it's those boxes that have seemed to have folded them.

However, if they got the money, they'd be taking over.
Of course it’d be a disaster. They approve a takeover and the club fails because the new owners go bust almost immediately.

Everyone then asks questions of the league’s decision.

but
did they really give us money?

and they will wants that back?
It wasn’t theirs. They borrowed it.

Look at the tweet just above about Vasco. The company who lent 777 the money is effectively seizing assets because 778 can’t pay. The asset in this instance are shares of the company that controls Vasco (not Vasco itself).

It could very well be a similar situation with Everton. The company that 777 created to lend to the club could be seized by Acap and now Acap holds the debt.

In reality it doesn’t change much. Moshiri still needs to find another buyer, and it’s in ACaps best interest to see that he does or they will be out a lot of money
