I remember once at school we were on our way back from the swimming pool in a double decker. No teachers, just about 60 kids and the driver.
I don’t know how it started, but pretty soon we were all going berserk - jumping over seats, falling down the stairs five at a time, kids sticking the left half of their bodies out through the seal in the door as we drove. Just a screaming Lord of the Flies on wheels.
The bus driver drove to the bus station instead of school. He got out and all the drivers came out and stood wondering at the chaos. This rocking double decker full of insane children that they didn’t know what to do with.
Feels a bit similar in here tonight.
