FCA “approval” is for individuals/companies carrying out or offering financial services, insurance, investment services. It’s a substantial burden and a pain in the arse, though I’m sure protects the consumers. Think it was only added into the suitability tests to add a bit of teeth. Doesn’t speak to what 777 intend to do over here (Everton home insurance!!!!)Not sure myself. I’m assuming it’s checking that the directors haven’t been done for fraud, financial irregularities etc? Presumably proof of funds is between the vendor and purchasers with independent verification from accountants etc? Not sure.
The Esk was saying that 777 didn’t have the funds to buy Everton or have not shown proof (not sure if he means just personally to him though).
Does this approval mean that they have provided proof?
apologies not sure what this actually covers…

I hear a lot of FCA queries and investigations through work. We have a whole squadron of FCA compliance people to ensure we have documented processes, constant training, proper recording and addressing of complaints etc etc (relating to sale of finance mainly). Can’t speak to their competence, but they are properly fastidious.
Some HUGE fines for non compliance with FCA regs. And removal of your ability to sell finance etc
I would say if 777 are as bad as that obsessive investigator makes out, it’s surprising they “passed” tbh. Be quite the shocker if they are semi legit and have just chosen not to respond to the criticism and accusations.
Some sources are better than others, Ornsteins record is pretty stellar and is not really considered a click bait merchant. Are they approved now? Sounds like it is almost a done deal. While I don’t want this it’s all very well citing newspaper reports but a lot of it is hearsay, allegations or whatever else you want to call it. Remember, these are the papers that tell us so and so is signing for us or so and so is being sold every season. If you believe everything they say then you need help.
I wouldn’t go that far, blimey now I feel like gouging my eyes out. Some sources are better than others, Ornsteins record is pretty stellar and is not really considered a click bait merchant.
But you are indeed correct to not believe a single thing you ever read and in this world of misinformation, we cant even trust what we see.

Moshiri has ruined us too. Not much left to ruin if we are being honest. My only hope is that we are going to be their flagship brand. We will be the biggest club that they own by some margin, in a league which has a massive spotlight on it at all times. If they wish to continue to invest in football especially then it is imperative that ‘ruining Everton’ does not appear on their CV. Just hoping they’re no worse than the current ownership
Cheers! Yeah I can imagine it would be difficult for a total sham outfit to pass the FCA checks so presumably that might point to them being at least semi legitimate as you say. They obviously are embroiled in some disputes and no smoke without fire and all that - so will watch events unfold with caution lolFCA “approval” is for individuals/companies carrying out or offering financial services, insurance, investment services. Exactly this. The premier league ‘tests’ will be a walk in the park compared to satisfying the FCA requirements for legitimacy to operate.
This could be the bloody worst Christmas present ever.
Exactly this.
This is done mate.
Just a matter of time , can't see the Prem sanctioning it in a hurry tho judging by the time span of the points deduction fiasco.
Never the less it is done.
