Personally I'm glad that TG took the offer from Real because we ended up with Arteta as his replacement, better and several years younger. I had a soft spot for mad dog but we've moved on now.
We have proven we are much better and play more attractive football with a 4 4 2 system. I do not understand the need to revert back to 4 5 1 when it's proven we scored less in that system. 4 5 1 is a step backwards and it should only be deployed when facing teams with better technical abilities. So no to gravesen.

cahill is the fulcrum in 451, his tendancy to get forward and get into space means 442 in possession, its about fluidity in the side not regimented zonal play.
as for tommy, how i miss him so, he was and is a capable midfielder, experienced international and a real character.
i feel sorry for gravs, being in a midfield for with alexandersson, pembridge and gemmill must have been a tough time.
i always remember the player with vision and steel, who showed a bit of grit, a bit of fight, who didnt let his head drop regardless of the dross around him.
carsley, cahill, neville, even arteta have shown a tendancy to pick up bookings, and then there is the dreaded shadow of possible injuries... get gravesen back and get him fit then judge in the new improved everton side and watch him flourish.

yep i agree with brucie. Sorry Mont, but Gravesen is a backwards step. Even as a squad player, we need a mad dog, but a better one. TG jumped the ship when we really started clicking, to me he's become a mercinary. Watch him gp to wigan or somewhere. Newcastle probably.

I'vbe always been an advocate of signing Nugent but financially it does make far more sense to wait a year and get him for free, if he'll wait. Such an action on his behalf may also prompt PNE to let us have him at a bargain basement price knowing that they'll get sod all in a yeqars time
