And a much nicer headache than our last few managers have had.

Looks like he's given everyone a clean slate and starting from square one.

Blissful to see the moves, touches and effort that was clear to see in training this week replicated on match day.

Yep very early days but it truly feels like a reset this time.

Creative wise we did well. DVDB will have a job forcing his way in.

I reckon Alli might be a bit off a start. If that's the case I dont expect too many changes against Newcastle.

Yeah I’d of liked a defensive midfielder brought in.. A lot is being put on Allan for remainder of season

Exactly this. We never played a number 9 either. Amazing performance off the back of it too. Also Brentford would have been a real handful for us only in December.

I think he will only pick one of Dele or VDB. Newcastle have signed a shed load of players, Howe will be under pressure to play them. However trying to integrate 4-5 new players into a struggling side will be difficult and they will lack cohesion if they do. We need to take advantage of that.

This also makes it nearly impossible to predict what Lampard will do, because he and we have no clue what Newcastle will do.

This may be one where he gets it wrong and has to make some early subs through no fault of his own.

Yeah, I certainly think there's a case to be made that in any formation with a front three be it that 343 or a 433, the three we saw today is the best combination, their movement and ability to interchange would cause most defences real problems. But then DCL offers other options, and options are never a bad thing.

At the same time, with the games coming up quickly, and the problems we've had all season, even worrying about what our best 11 is feels pointless. Going to be plenty of game time to go around.

I've no problem with DCL starting if he deserves a place, however I'd love a squad where nobody's name is an auto on the team sheet like of late, whether playing bad or good. I can't see why we'd break this formula that worked so well today unless it needed changing.
