Beatties been rumoured with so many clubs, but middlesbrough would be a great club for him i think, replacing viduka, playing regularly...

Smith would be a waste of money, i keep saying this, weve got enough strikers! anichebe and vaughan are by far better than smith and are both backups to johnson (in the 4-5-1 formation with cahill SS).

weve got johnson, vuahgna, anichebe, mcfadden, juciewitz, and players like osman ([Poor language removed]) and cahill can play there too... Theres also the young striker spencer who in 2 years or so will be breaking into the first team imo...

I agree with you and if we get shut of bt a good addition in my eyes but you know what will happen someone like villa will come in at the last minute and offer 8 million for him.

It would be great to have more numbers and he's a good player when hes performing week in week out however if we were to make a move for Smith then i'd rather we did it after we have signed a few midfielders and at least one defender because i think those are the positions we need to strengthen most and add numbers.

I'm confident if we keep hold of Beattie, he'll have a better season and the three youngsters will play a huge role in our season also. Then with another player like Agard who scored today also knocking at the door i think we are fine as it is in that particular position.

Depends though - if we got 4.5 mill for BT, the getting Smith would be worth spending 6 million - 1.5 to upgrade - I'd take it.

Nice to see all the nice comments about BT - popular in the dressing rooom, afraid he'll come back to bite us if we sell - but I'd take 2 mill for him and feel like I'd robbed the bank.

I won't miss BT one bit but I do wish him well. Be nice to see him find a system or a winger or something that his game going again.

I don't know why but I've still got faith in Beats. I just feel like it will happen eventually.

If we do get AS though, I wouldn't offload Beats this season. The pair of them up front is quite a tough strike force that would do us well against bruisers like Bolton et al.
