A strategic review of the club going forward

I'd imagine the Friedkins did a "strategic review" of the club, to the extent they could, months ago. That is being intensified now they have access to the books.

It isn't rocket science, but it does need competent people with experience and track record of delivery.

Profit up 25% at Roma, and we have a much higher ceiling. We need an efficient, profitable, and sustainable club with stable and progressive management, looking to improve year-on-year. If you don't have good people, then any plans made are doomed to fail. We've had more than three decades of the club being managed like it was a bingo hall, not a club in one of the biggest leagues and brands in the world.

As for "appoint a world class manager" we appointed Carlo only because our owner and his best mate promised him the resources to drive us up the league, ignoring the advice of the DoF they'd appointed a year earlier. Money wasn't an issue. They bought him a 600k Rolls Royce for beating spurs for goodness sake. When the money ran out Carlo came out with his "I'm not a magician" quote and sent up the flare to alert Madrid he's open to offers. We're not attracting proven world class coaches. It's in the club to spot talent before others do.

Any idea what it would cost in upkeep? Sentiment aside, it's an absolute tip. A money pit keeping it for the women when they attract a few thousand.

Clubs can't demand when games are played. Still, it's the least idiotic suggestion you've made so far.

World Class sponsors want to appear with brands of similar stature. The only thing we have world class right now is our future stadium. Just settle for incremental growth, eh?

Add as many as you like, we're not fan controlled and I doubt we ever will be. Let the list grow, it's a nice hobby.

You stopped mid point...... Will not be adequate enough to cope with demand..... And then?
Expand it you mean? Couple of hundred million pounds for an extra 15/20k bodies inside? (not to mention the reduced capacity whilst expanding it takes place.) It's just not financially viable.
The time for bigger capacity was 4 years ago. The club in all it's wisdom decided against it. It's not changing.


Anyway, thanks for the thread. I wouldn't mind a day in your world, it seems to be a fun place to be.
