There's been a few times this season were he has dived as seen in the post above. I don't buy all of this 'little protection from refs' malarkey. It's a game of football ffs, you get stuck in, you get kicked, if it's a foul then it's a foul, you get up and get on with it.

Why would a ref be like 'ok it's janazaj better protect him'?!

Moyes will do far better with Man U in the second half of the season. But what will define him, and where I do think he will come up short, is away to Chelsea, Arsenal, home to Liverpool and the away legs of the QF of the CL or semi-final if they avoid a real European superpower in the quarters.

I think they'll have a good enough second half of the season that he'll get a second season comfortably, but it'll be the end of next season, when he'll really have had to shown the pedigree to win the big games away from home, or he'll be under serious, very short odds to go, sort of pressure.

Used to be a genuinely great club Utd had loads of good banter with lads around greater manchester but this transition to Walmart of the footballing world has turned them into .... well fook all really they're not really a football club anymore just tourist bellends with the worst attitude bar the RS, and their cringe making songs FOOKIN' ELL!!!

I roared when City got money and Utd followers had the cheek to cry foul their own legendary financial clout cherry picking star players (young and established) from every club year after year appeared not to have registered with the blockheaded cotton weavers.

Got no time for their present day arrogance.

I agree 99%.

I have always regarded Man U as miles better in every way than City and The cringemaking sentimental RS bells but their idea that they are the cats whiskers is sickening. No truly great established stars sign for them. Messi? Cristiano? Ibra? Neymar? Iniesta? Imagine any of them signing for Moyes. They wouldn't even sign for Alec Ferguson.

Yes they are a superclub but they are miles behind Madrid and Barcelona as a magnet. Always have been.

Why have we in the past ??

The year of the twin towers, so about 12 years ago? My mate's lad couldn't go to most of the games so I went with him in the Stretford end for about half dozen games. They used to hand out a song sheet. Unless they were just one offs.

Neville, have you heard of any rumours about who your January transfer targets might be? Or who you may be looking at? Just curious mate.

I go on the Streford end mate thats the last place they would be handing out song sheets Deffo must have been a one off mate was it for a particular song

RE: Barkley and Everton in general

It's these kind of attitudes that explain why so few English talent shine at the top level. It's not a direct criticism of Everton or necessarily of this player but there's far, far too much caution when it comes to English players. They end up staying at clubs for far too long, suffering from lack of exposure to top level football and generally fade out or fail to live up to potential. You can't really get to aged 23/24 without top-level CL football and then expect to kick on. There may be rare examples but generally if you're to be one of the top players you need exposure to the top level asap.

Martinez definitely has them punching above their weight this year. Can't see it changing much given Barkley's evolution and the contributions they're getting from their loanees.

I have them finishing 7th, behind Pool, Spurs and us. For all of Spurs' problems, they are just 4 points behind an "in-form" Everton. The form can go on only for so long.

Nah i thought he had potential but it was a **** move for him it really was. Granted City are a bigger club and could offer all I outlined we could in the debate on Barkley but it was clear he was never going to play. If we had City's players or even transfer ethos (of "if that doesn't work we'll sign another two players instead") then it would probably be a bad move for him but I'd like to think Barkley wouldn't be in that position here.

Also, is Man United's academy defunct? Or do they just plan on robbing other teams of their youth talent?
