Aaron Ramsay Incident

What annoys me about all this is Arsenal making out there is a witch hunt against them- saying the worst tackles in the last few years (diaby, eduardo and Ramsey have all come against them).

The challenge will get the attention because of the severity and graphic detail of it. But the Nolan tackle on Anichebe was 1000x as bad and could potentially have caused just as much damage ti the victim if not more. But because the media didnt have a graphic leg breaking picture to run with it got sod all publicity compared to this. THe challenge was so much worse and he was out for a year and may never truly recover yet compared to this it got jack [Poor language removed] publicity. If this challenge would have happened in the Merseyside derby 3 weeks ago (excluding the leg break.) It would have got zero publicity. If Ramsey hadn't have broken his leg I doubt it would have even been a booking.

Sadly in football [Poor language removed] happens. Dixie Dean lost a testicle Jim Beglin broke his leg and never fully recovered, Luc Nilis career was finished in 2000 due to a tumble with Richard Wright (so innocuous). I could go on.

But Wenger takes the piss. With a young 19 year old in hospital what does Wenger do. Wish the lad all the best and offer his thoughts like Pulis? No. Instead he tries to use it all to Arsenals advantage by claiming there is a witch hunt against Arsenal. That Arsenal need more protection from referees! The one player who seemed to give the biggest [Poor language removed] about Ramsey was Glen Whealen; unlike Sol Campbell who's focus was to get Shawcross sent off.

[Poor language removed] Happens Arsenal

Yakubu- 11 months
Arteta - 1 year
Anichebe - 1 year
Jagielka- nearly a year
Piennar- 3 months
Neville- 3 months

get well soon Aaron.

Agreed 100% +rep for you. Glad someone else calls it straight and is prepared to tear a strip of Wenger. For too long he has gone after opposition players, no other manager in the league does it like him or to the extent he does it. A disgusting coward and a gross hypocrite.

Don't think I can bring myself to watch the footage. I've still not even seen the Eduardo incident.

Some harsh comments here on Wenger. He's clearly in an emotional state, having just seen one of his players suffer a career-threatening injury. I'm prepared to cut him more than a little slack. If it happened to one of ours, we'd be hurling a few accusations around too.

It's unfortunate, but football is a contact sport where these things can and do happen.

It will be a long road back for Arron Ramsey, and we wish him a every luck in making a full recovery.

If it was a one time thing then I'd understand. Everytime one of his players go down he cries even though this was a 50/50 ball.. In the 1st half Fabergas could have broke Scacross's ankle just as easily with a leg whip from behind. I'm sure he didn't see that though.

I think Arsenal are targeted because the word around town is that they are scared of physical play and just want to look pretty...

To say that Shawcross tried to do that on purpose, is unfair.. His reaction was proof enough.. He was clearly upset with himself..

Football can be a physical game and people get hurt in physical games.. There is no getting around it..

Got to say hats off to Glenn Whelan who did what the rest of Ramsey's team mates couldnt do and console him and try and offer a bit of comfort to what is a HORRIFIC incident that brings back bad personal memories for me.

I hope Ramsey a good and comfortable recovery.

Sure, it's a shame and I do feel for the lad but he'll be treated by the best in the world and be back in under six months. While he's waiting, he'll be paid very handsomely and learn a thing or two that will put him in good stead for the rest of his career.

I'll save my crying for something else.

Back in 6 months?! More like 16 months- and I'd put a bet on that.

The thing is when something like this happens it just shows what can happen in a split second- nasty.
