2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

We have some shocking "Evertonians" here, I am a positive Bluenose but sometimes even I despair at some of the attitudes here. We win today, a massive, unexpected three points, but still some come out of their dark places and slag the scorer etc. Why bother? Ultimately, I think it's down to intelligence.
Intelligence 🤣 fans come out saying doucoure was great and he deserves a new deal, then you’re going to get opposition to that, your 2nd post to me you start going on about you’ve watched Everton longer than me etc. when you haven’t a clue what I’ve watched and for how long.

I don’t rate doucoure and never have and he’s not the only one at the club,
He’s cost the club about 50milion pound, if you think putting shift every week
And scoring 4 or 5 important goals in 5 years = value for money, then fair enough, I don’t

I think because we've signed so many terrible players that an average player who tries hard is rated way above what they should be.

My view of him has always been how many goals does he stop us scoring by failing to control and pass in the final third as opposed to the ones he does score, we will never know but a better player in his position gets us a lot higher up the table. He gives his all and he does score some important goals, he's synonymous with Everton's current standing, we need to improve but we have moments of joy as well.

Quite the player is Doucoure. Signed as a bit of a lightning rod, physicality, put himself about and rough a few opposition up. Was never going to be Pirlo was he, or Modric for that matter. Holds a couple of very special places in Everton history.

Firstly, that goal that kept us up vs Bournemouth 28th May 2023.
Secondly, holds the record for the fastest goal scored in PL history by a home player. That's right, the fastest.
It's also Evertons fastest ever PL goal.

Wraps up his time here (September 2020-May 2025) with good grace, like him or not a huge part of our history now. Wish him nothing but the best.
Still this.

We've had some shockers attempt to play for us, and they're miles apart from Abdoulaye. Far from a refined silky football artiste, but does our cup runneth over?
