2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

Wouldn't suprise me if he's still first name on the team sheet next season.
No chance, Moyes ain’t stupid and the crowd at the new ground will
Turn on him and the manager imo . People probably accepted him under dyche, because we knew how dyche played, Moyes had used him because of his experience, the situation we were in and limited options at times, but fans are already getting frustrated, With Moyes picking him and never taking him off, when there’s nothing to play for.

That will magnify next season if it’s still the case

Did you watch West Ham under Moyes? His style of play constantly frustrated them, I can easily see Doucoure in the first team next season.

At West Ham he bought paqueta, kudus, Bowen, even Alvarez as a number 6 is a better footballer than doucoure add in soucek and ward prowse, who was a poor buy at 30mil but is a good footballer , basically all technical footballers. He didn’t have a cart horse like doucoure as a number 10.

It’s up to Moyes, he’s got a chance with tbe new ground, new owners, new finances to build a good side, if he wants to carry on Witt doucoure, then he won’t last the season

Definitely getting a new contract ain't he. If Moyes sees him currently as one of the most undroppable irreplaceable players in the team he's not going to let him go on a free. Probably be given similar terms to his current deal too
Devastating to the fans if true, and a huge negative impact on the squad too (players be looking at his stats and fuming that he's still earning double what they are, etc.). It's funny, the managers are paid millions yet often can't see the obvious weaknesses in the squad. Sure, they see what goes on behind the scenes and how players train and are respected by their teammates, but all of that surely is insignificant if it doesn't translate into impactful performances on the field. Abdoulaye Doucoure - starts every week behind the striker and has three goals this season. That's disgraceful.

It looks that way as Moyes only chose to let him off the Brentford game as he welcomed Doucoure junior into the world. Funny thing was with that Brentford game, I thought we were very good apart from Beto misplacing his shooting boots. Always thought we would get back into the game, which was a lot different to when we would go behind a few months before as we made hard work of finding the net. Since then Doucoure has been ever present in the 10 positionand the goals have been harder to come by.

He's done a job for us over the last few years. We would certainly have been relegated without him, but having players of his quality (or lack of) are part of the reason why we've been at the wrong end of the table for so long.

If we were to offer him a new contracts (I hope we don't) I'd imagine it would be on significantly lower terms than he's on now and only for 12 months, which makes me think he's likely to leave either way as he may well get a higher offer from elsewhere.
