2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

Doucs stunk the gaff out again after jogging about a bit and helping with the press early on - just a genuinely horrendous footballer.

Yo @Kever10 aka doucures agent.

You feeling ok today bro, especially after Gana Gayes performance….. 🤣🤣🤣
I think everyone had a good game today tbh, it would be harsh to single anyone out. They pressed so well as a team and forced Spurs into many of the mistakes we usually make.

Gueye was excellent today though tbf. And he got 2 assists as well, which is mental.

I think Doucoure tired badly in the 2nd half, and id have maybe brought Armstrong or Beto on for him when it was 3-1 to try and put some fresh legs in and try and put them on the backfoot again, because our shape completely went when Lindstrom went off, and Young offered very little in the middle.

But im convinced they just like to make us sweat.

Really, really hope that the performances off the ball of Ndiaye and Lindstrom convince Moyes that Doucore's pressing and work aren't irreplaceable even within the confines of the current squad.

Say what you like about McNeill but he is a player willing to run and harry off the ball so hopefully things change when he's fit. Him, Ndiaye, Lindstrom (on todays showing) and DCL have the makings of a decent pressing unit. Flip it round and have Doucore as the fresh legs coming on to press late on.
Spot on 👍

I don't think his level drops later in a game, I think it's more complex than that, when players tire around him and there's less options he has to have the ball and think and invariably it ends up with him losing it and is under pressure.

I'll remind people of I think Bournemouth when he came in fresh into a tired dude and looked exactly as bad as he did the last 20 minutes yesterday.

As the team tires he ends up recieving the ball more and has to do more with it, and he's absolutely atrocious in possession and technically.

First 60 minutes he didn't look bad yesterday not because he was fresh but because he could tap it a yard to someone who actually knows how to control a ball rather than him playing well, it was the lads playing around him doing that.

The last 20-25 yesterday us what Doucoure actually is as a player, energy pressing but a complete disaster on the ball.

The clear player who needs shifting out the side and replacing.

You must have had an obscured view if that is what you think. He is a terrible footballer and played as such. Unless you want to give credit for effort.
He was all over the pitch. That's not just "effort".a vital part of the improved press.

His passing is poor but he can be effective if used correctly.

He could scored a hattrick of overhead kicks and some people would complain about him.

One of options to sell this window, as he has 6 months + a possible 1 year extension.

Could free up some funds, have a loan in to cover until the summer.

The Saudi window closes earlier than most and are the ones who could match his wages ?

The problem is that they don`t seem pushed to take him, and even if they did put an offer in there`s always a chance he wouldn`t go there.

Even they don’t think he’s worth the wages unfortunately for us.
Sometimes I think we have to play him to justify what we are paying him, his goal against Bournemouth earned him a retrieve
the season before last, but has been inconsistent at best this season, maybe now is good time to move.

Did someone not proof read the contract before they sent it to him? It seems like he has more +1 year options than I’ve had hot dinners!

He won't be going anywhere until the end of the season I don't think.

Still getting minutes so unless Moyes signs a replacement and then sees Lindstrom or Ndiaye or Mcneil ahead of him in the lecking order for that role, Moyes will want everyone on board to ensure we have numbers and squad depth.
