2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

the passage when N'Diaye managed to get past two players, opened the pitch up into the final third, passed it to Doucoure who had the final third ahead of him asnd proceeded to just run into a Brighton player and lose the ball so easily was absolutely infuriating

hope Mangala innury isn't too serious or he's statying in the side until Garner and Tim are fully fit

He’s so terrible with the ball - like, so clearly to everyone no matter their interest level in watching football - that I’ve been distracting myself through that match trying to figure out why he continues to play.

I’ve been trying to work out in a dispassionate way what it is he brings - because he’s clearly considered to have value.

The only thing I can come up with is that he’s good at getting in the way. Getting back behind the ball and standing in the way of a forward ball from the opposition.

He’s basically a running barricade.

That was the one that stuck out for me too. It was a promising counter attack. At the very least we had a chance to relieve pressure for a few minutes yet he immediately pissed it away

I have been a fan of his but only when he was scoring goals that we needed. Without goals, his deficiencies with the ball are really difficult to take.

Would love a striker & someone to take over Doucoure’s position before the window ends.
