Im glad he did it! But lets remove the NSNO if we consider a slow roller 12 yards out with no defender and the keeper in no mans land "brilliant". Think about the reaction if he had missed it(or anyone had) and that's all you need to know.

Other than under Lampard, the other managers have had Doucoure as one of the first names on the team sheet. For the first half of the season he looked like he was playing with an injury to me.
His wages always used as a reason not to renew, but I think most would take him on reduced wages for another season.
I would like to see him in a deeper role, where James Garner plays, so we can put in a number 10 with more finesse in the final 3rd.
If Doucoure does leave we need to find someone who has his energy and work rate

I'm not. As you rightly point out, lots of incomings needed so let's keep him as a bench option. We should have pushed on that he shouldn't be near the starting 11 but I'd happily see him in the last 20 mins of some games and starting when we shuffle the squad for some cup games.

We would have to be very careful. It seems they already won't be offering him a contract but there is probably some room for flexibility although more of the compromise would have to fall on him.

I think he offers enough to be a solid option in next years squad but I wouldn't be offering anything more than a one year deal. He divides opinion as it is, but is clearly liked in terms of his contribution.

A one year extension mitigates risk for us if he was interested.

He will have plenty of options either way to go elsewhere.

But would we win more if we had better? He’s also cost us a lot of chances to win more games because of his poor play and others. 50mil he’s cost us in fees and wages. Scandalous

Well they are not dropping his wages per se , they will renegotiate his contract... It's up in the summer so we absolutely should and hopefully he will agree that deal. Which is actually good for the club... And if Doucs refuses the deal, well the loyalty he has shown will be purely for the bucks he's been getting...not the love for the club.
